Aaron Rodgers expressed admiration for Novak Djokovic, and not just because of his tennis prowess, in a social media post on Sunday night.
The New York Jets quarterback was present at the US Open at Flushing Meadows, and Rodgers shared his excitement about fulfilling a bucket list item by witnessing Djokovic playing.

In the Instagram Story, Rodgers also seemed to show support for Djokovic‘s decision to abstain from COVID-19 vaccination.
He used the goat emoji alongside the hashtag #novaxdjokovic and drew a red line over the Moderna logo, one of the companies producing the vaccine.

It’s worth noting that Rodgers has been publicly sceptical about the vaccine and chose not to receive it during the pandemic.
This decision led to controversy when he initially misled the public about his vaccination status and later tested positive for COVID-19 in November 2021.
Djokovic’s anti-vax stance kept him out the US
Meanwhile, Djokovic had to miss the previous year’s US Open due to his unvaccinated status, as it prevented him from entering the United States.
However, in May, the US government lifted the requirement for international travelers to be vaccinated when entering the country.
Djokovic has been steadfast in his stance against vaccination, even stating previously that he would rather forgo Grand Slams than receive the shot in order to compete.
“The reason why I was not here for two years, I have zero regret on that,” he told CNN this year.
“I’m just glad to be back. I’ve had plenty of success on American soil with Indian Wells, Miami, obviously Canada and here.
“I’ve won many times at these Masters 1,000 events, all of them. Of course, the US Open as well, being the pinnacle of the hard-court season. I’m just excited.”
Djokovic is already into the quarter-finals, where he’ll face American Taylor Fritz.
