The arrival of Lionel Messi to the MLS will bring sell out crowds to stadiums, the sale of thousands of his jerseys with the number 10 and a revolution, but there are places where the South American’s clothing, regardless of the colors, is forbidden.

Messi will be presented this Sunday as a player of Inter Miami, and although he hasn’t played yet, his presence in the United States has captivated millions, but a few don’t want to know anything about the Argentine footballer: the fans of St Louis City.

On Saturday night, Inter Miami visited St Louis in an MLS game and Messi’s new team was thrashed 3-0. But before the game, fans warned that they did not want to see jerseys with Messi’s name on them, from any club related to the South American, not even from his childhood club Grandoli.

Messi is not wanted at St. Louis bar that banned the Argentine's T-shirts

St Louis Bar explains why they don’t want Messi jerseys

The bar made it clear they didn’t want to see shirts of Inter Miami, the Argentina national team, or Barcelona, PSG, Newell’s Old Boys or Grandoli. This also happened when the South American joined the French team and faced Brest.

“It has been our policy from day one. Opposing team shirts can be worn elsewhere in the stadium, but our supporters section is extremely important to us and they are the heartbeat of the heart of our stadium. We are proud of our fans and the incredible environment they have created at CITYPARK,” the St Louis ultras told Télam.

Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami will officially begin this Sunday, when he will be unveiled at DRV PNK Stadium, where thousands of fans and millions are expected to follow the broadcast to see Messi’s first moments with the MLS club.
