Following his victory over Nate Diaz in their recent boxing match, Jake Paul has a clear sense of his next move, and it doesn’t involve a showdown with Conor McGregor.
Paul, who boasts a 7-1 record, secured a unanimous decision victory over Diaz at the American Airlines Center on Saturday, effectively rebounding from his sole career defeat against Tommy Fury earlier this year.
This triumph was arguably one of his most impressive performances so far, reinstating his career onto the desired path.
“There’s this pressure off,” Paul told the media in the post-fight news conference.
“I know I’m meant to be here and I did exactly what I said I was going to do, which is when I lost, I came back and got better.
“I showed the world how to lose on the biggest stage and then come back and win on the biggest stage.”

Throughout the 10-round contest against Diaz, Paul largely maintained control.
Notably, he delivered impactful blows in the initial round and even managed to secure a knockdown in Round 5.
Despite initially predicting a knockout victory, Paul acknowledged Diaz‘s commendable resilience and tenacity in navigating challenging moments.
“It’s what I expected,” Paul said.
“[His toughness] is what he is known for. I don’t know how he survived that first round, but he’s a dog, and I walked the dog.”
Willing to fight more professional boxers
Paul expressed his plans to seek a rematch against Diaz in the realm of MMA within the PFL organization.
Following this, he aims to progressively advance within the boxing sphere, with his ultimate aspiration being a chance to step into the ring alongside Canelo Alvarez.
“I don’t care about [McGregor],” Paul said.
“He needs to go to rehab. I want Nate in MMA. I want more professional boxers and I want Canelo.”
