Manchester United have entered talks with Fenerbahce over goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, sources have confirmed to 90min.

The Red Devils have already spent big on a goalkeeper this summer having secured the services of Andre Onana on a five-year contract, with an option for a further year, after long-standing number one David de Gea left the club as a free agent at the end of June.

Along with De Gea, another goalkeeper who looks set to leave club this summer is Dean Henderson. 90min reported at the end of last week that Crystal Palace have spoken to Man Utd about the possibility of signing Henderson – a player who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest.

The Eagles are looking to fill the void in goal which will likely be left by Vicente Guaita, who is keen to leave Selhurst Park and been dropped from the senior squad.

In order to cope with the loss of their second-choice goalkeeper, 90min understands that Man Utd have turned to Fenerbahce’s Bayindir. The Red Devils have entered negotiations with his current club over a potential deal, and believed to be in advanced talks at this stage.

The 25-year-old shot stopper has been a regular for Fenerbahce since joining the club from Ankaragucu back in 2019, making 146 Super Lig appearances and also becoming a regular for the Turkish national team in recent years.

Along with Bayindir, sources have told 90min that Man Utd have also spoken to Benfica about Odysseas Vlachodimos’ availability, although negotiations with Fenerbahce regarding Bayindir have progressed since then.

A move for any back-up goalkeeper is ultimately dependent upon Henderson’s future, but as things stand 90min understands that the club are confident of moving the goalkeeper on before the September 1 deadline.
