The Manchester City striker have been voted ahead of Kevin de Bruyne and Lionel Messi, although it remains to be seen who will finish second and third on the podium.

Haaland will succeed Karim Benzema as the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year at the UEFA gala held on Thursday at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

A prize for Aitana Bonmati

Meanwhile, Bonmati will follow in the footsteps of her Barcelona and national team teammate Alexia Putellas.

It has been a remarkable season for the Barcelona footballer, as she secured the Champions League, the Supercopa de Espana Femenina, and Liga F, in addition to the Women’s World Cup.

The Spanish international will edge out Real Madrid player Olga Carmona, who clinched the World Cup for Spain with her goal in the final against England, and Australia international Sam Kerr.

Jorge Vilda, the head coach of the Spanish women’s national football team, is nominated alongside Jonatan Giraldez and Sarina Wiegman for the Coach of the Year award.
