Chelsea are sweating on the results of scans on summer signing Romeo Lavia after he suffered an ankle injury in training.

Midfielder Lavia is having his injury assessed today after he went over on his ankle during a session on Thursday following a challenge.

Lavia, 19, joined Chelsea for £58m last month and has yet to make his debut.

He has been building up his fitness since joining having not had trained or played much for Southampton before joining Chelsea, with his future having been up in the air since the south coast side’s relegation last season.

Chelsea will be hoping for good news having already been hit by a number of injury setbacks this season.
