Marc Webb charting a course for the Bermuda Triangle. The filmmaker is attached to direct Bermuda for Skydance, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Skydance has been developing Bermuda for some time, with Spider-Man director Sam Raimi at one point attached, and filmmaker stepping in Scott Derrickson boarding in 2020 after exiting his Doctor Strange sequel. (Chris Evans was attached to star in that iteration.)

The latest incarnation has no actors attached or script, with a writer to be hired after the WGA strike concludes. The feature takes inspiration on the section of the Caribbean that where planes and ships are said to have vanished, never to be seen again.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce, with Aimee Rivera overseeing for Skydance.

Skydance most recently put out Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, and had a $1.49 billion hit with Top Gun: Maverick last year.

Webb broke out with 500 Days of Summer and went on to direct two The Amazing Spider-Man films with Andrew Garfield. He next up has Disney’s Snow White, which he has already filmed. The director is repped by CAA.

Deadline first reported the news.
