Foxborough Police Department are looking to charge three people who were involved in an assault during the Patriots-Dolphins game last month that saw a New England fan lose his life.
The department told TMZ that it plans to charge three Rhode Island residents with assault and battery, as well as disorderly conduct.
While the police won’t share the names of the suspects, they believe the three played a role in the death of Dale Mooney, 53, at Gillette Stadium back on September 16.

The FPD say they came to the conclusion after interviewing several witnesses while also reviewing videos of the incident.
How the incident played out
Mooney lost his life while attending the Patriots‘ home game against the Dolphins.
The incident took place in Section 308/309 at Gillette Stadium at around 23:00 during the closing stages of the game. Miami ended up winning the game 24-17.
Reports say Mooney was involved in a scuffle at some point and collapsed. He was rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro where he was pronounced dead.
The 53-year-old was punched at least twice in the head during the altercation, with the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office finding that he did not suffer a “traumatic injury” in the stands, but that he did have a medical issue.
Anther fan at the game, Joey Kilmartin, spoke to MassLive.com about the back-and-forth that culminated in a physical altercation.
“The Dolphins fan walks over and clearly punches him in the face,” Kilmartin said. “[He] gets knocked out and you can tell right away he’s not OK.”
“It’s an unfortunate situation,” he said. “I feel bad for the family.”
