Amid the upcoming fight between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, some of history’s greatest combat sports athletes have made it to Riyadh. We have seen the likes of Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao, Oscar de la Hoya, Israel Adesanya, Lennox Lewis, amongst many more. But one who just made it to the Arab city is none other than Oleksandr Usyk. He comes with the purpose of trying to look out for his best interest and see if Francis Ngannou can actually hurt Tyson Fury. Upon arrival, he issued a request for the MMA athlete who is about to fight his upcoming opponent. Here’s what he wrote next to his image already in Riyadh: “Francis, be careful with Tyson, I need him in the ring on December 23.”

Could Francis Ngannou hurt Tyson Fury?

This right here is the million dollar question, nobody truly knows what is about to happen. For all we know, Francis Ngannou doesn’t stand a chance against arguably the greatest heavyweight in history since Muhammad Ali. But we need to consider a couple of things from Ngannou. Unlike other MMA athletes who started since they were teenagers, Francis can be considered a late bloomer. In 2012, he wasn’t even thinking about becoming a fighter because he was escaping Cameroon to lead a better life in France. The man started with nothing and he is now headlining one of the biggest fights of the year.

When he started in mixed martial arts, the inexperience from Francis was evident but so was the incredibly fast learning curve. With every fight he completed inside the octagon, Ngannou proved to be a self-teaching indivdual who takes massive leaps in the sport through real-life experience. Amid all the teachings from Mike Tyson over this time of preparation, there is a small chance Francis Ngannou can actually hurt Tyson Fury. However, this possibility is minuscule compared to the chances Tson has of knocking him out. Oleksandr Usyk knows about this chance Ngannou has, which is why he came to Riyadh and oversee the procedings.
