Steve Kerr will leave the US Dream Team after the Paris Games

There is a change in the most feared team in the world, the United States Basketball Team. The ‘Dream Team’ will not continue with Steve Kerr, one of the best coaches, after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in which the stars and stripes seek to boost its morale after a lousy World Cup. The former Golden State Warriors coach will leave the team after a universal event in which a star-studded squad is expected.

Steve Kerr inherited the Dream Team after the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He went to the World Cup, where the U.S. finished fourth, a big failure. And he’s going to the Games to come full circle. “Popovich did the same thing,” Kerr told ‘The Athletic’, the website that broke the news.

The prestigious American website also mentions Kerr’s reasons. “It’s the way it has to be. A form of commitment. A culture that you’re around for a number of years. It made more sense with ‘Coach K’ to be more durable, but now it’s a cycle and you move,” he added.

He will be looking to boost the morale of ‘Team USA’ at the Games. They come from the painful end of the World Cup, in which Germany eliminated them in the semi finals (111-113) and Canada left them without bronze in the third and fourth place (118-127). The United States took a weak team that, of course, generated debate. “The players are getting better and better in the world and the teams are better, it’s not easy to win,” Kerr acknowledged.

In view of this, several stars are asking to be in Paris. From LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, to the ‘big-name signing’, Joel Embiid. He seemed to want to go with France, but ends up with the United States. “We are 100% committed,” Durant buckled down about the new ‘Dream Team’.
