Arnold Schwarzenegger is a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Lyla and Eloise, who constantly visit his home at least once a week. Lyla and Eloise are his daughters, Katherine Schwarzenegger’s kids, with her husband, Chris Pratt.
When visiting, the kids and Arnold play with the animals in his home, including the miniature donkey and pig. “They play around with the animals. We have really a great, great time. The only thing is that they are a little spoiled,” Arnold revealed.

He then shared that the kids refused to help shovel animal waste in the stalls. Lyla and Eloise’s father also backed them up, noting that his kids were not brought up to shovel manure.

Lyla was born in 2020 amidst the global pandemic. Her father announced her birth through Instagram at that time, revealing that she was born healthy. Two years later, Chris and Katherine welcomed Eloise and also confirmed her birth through Instagram.

Both kids refer to Arnold as “Opa,” a German word for grandpa. Just as how they enjoy spending time with him, the former governor also likes grandfatherhood. “It’s just such a fun thing to do because it’s kind of like I [didn’t] know how good I would be [at being a grandfather], but I have the animals, so it’s an easy thing,” he said.

As a grandpa, Arnold is relieved of parenting his grandchildren. However, he did previously reveal what he was like as a parent teaching his daughter life lessons. As he shared, he once burned Katherine’s shoes after she disobeyed his instructions for a third time.

Katherine shared the story with her daughter as Lyla started leaving her shoes in the same place, by the fireplace. She hopes to instill in her kids the same values that her parents taught her.
In her own account, Katherine Schwarzenegger shared what it was like growing up as the daughter of an action star. She revealed she was embarrassed by her father’s fame and luxurious life. However, she eventually learned to embrace Arnold’s celebrity status.
