“II Hands II Heaven” is the longest track on “Cowboy Carter” for a reason! The song is 5 minutes and 41 seconds long and is a two-part story. In the first half, Beyoncé does some self-reflection and seems to be letting her faith and God let her life play out the way it is supposed to. She sings, “Bottle in my hand, the whiskey up high / Two hands to Heaven, wild horses run wild, oh / God only knows why, though (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah).” While the first half of the track can have a lot of different meanings, in the second half of the song, there seems to be no confusion about what it means.

In part two of the song, Beyoncé talks about an all-consuming love. She sings, “And you bring out the best of me / And all I see is everything / Your goals, your glow, your inner being / And our bigger meaning.” The song even talks about her intimacy with this special someone. She says, “Your love runs through me like lava / Pull my fit over these hips / You grip, I grind / Then taste this wine, I’ma taste what’s mine.” Beyoncé has not confirmed whether the song is about Jay-Z, but it wouldn’t be surprising considering they have been together for over 20 years, and their marriage and relationship have been the inspiration behind much of her work.
