Orlando Bloom is no stranger to the movie blockbuster, having starred in two epic franchises – Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean – but he has now revealed that there is one major film on his list of credits that he did that he actually didn’t want to do.

The 47-year-old British actor, who is engaged to popstar Katy Perry, made the admission during a new interview with Variety, when he was asked if he could remember various lines he’s said in different movies.

He was given a line from one particular hit – which grossed nearly $500 million worldwide when it was in theaters – but he couldn’t place it.

When the actor finally realized what movie it was, he admitted, ‘I think I just blanked that movie out of my brain, by the way.’

While the film was certainly a summer blockbuster, Bloom did not have fond memories from the film… 2004’s Troy with Brad Pitt.

Bloom portrayed Paris, the younger brother of Eric Bana’s Hector, the commander of the Trojan armies, in the film from director Wolfgang Petersen.

He was already a household name, coming off the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Bloom admitted, ‘So many people love that movie, but for me, playing that character was just like…’ as the actor made a motion slitting his throat.

‘Am I allowed to say all these things? I didn’t want to do the movie. I didn’t want to play this character,’ he said.

Bloom admitted, ‘The movie was great. It was Brad (Pitt) and it was Eric (Bana) and it was Peter O’Toole and I’m like, “How am I going to play this character? It was completely against everything I had felt in my being.’

He added that one part of the script called for Paris to, ‘crawl along the floor, having been beaten by somebody and just holds his brother’s leg.’

Bloom said that he admitted, ‘I’m not going to be able to do this,’ though one of his agents at the time told him, ‘But that’s the moment that’ll make it.’

‘I completely fell for that line of an agent, and that’s why I’ve blanked that line from my mind,’ Bloom admitted.
