Cristiano Ronaldo wants Al Nassr to sign former teammates Casemiro and Nacho Fernandez this summer, according to a report.

Al Nassr’s penalty shootout defeat to Al Hilal in Friday’s King Cup final left Ronaldo in floods of tears, with videos of his emotional reaction going viral on social media. Al Hilal also ran away with this year’s Saudi Pro League title, finishing with 96 points to Al Nassr’s 84.

MARCA report Ronaldo has not responded well to Al Nassr’s failings during his time in Saudi Arabia and his influence within the club is growing in order to bring them glory.

Ronaldo wants to build Al Nassr in the image of Real Madrid, and he will look to do so in part with the signing of two of his former teammates during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Casemiro, now of Manchester United, has been approached by Ronaldo over a move to the Middle East. The midfielder endured a testing 2023/24 season at Old Trafford and his subpar performances saw him omitted from Brazil’s squad for this summer’s Copa America, despite being their captain.

Madrid captain Nacho is also on Al Nassr’s radar. The centre-back is looking to leave Spain and has been in contact with Ronaldo recently.

Nacho had been looking to join a club in Major League Soccer, but that route now seems to be off limits and he is considering other options. Italian champions Inter have been linked with the 34-year-old, who has been named in Spain’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024.

Ronaldo’s plans to recruit such star names hinges on approval from the Saudi government, who are expected to come to a decision over the next fortnight.

In the meantime, Ronaldo will join up with the Portugal squad ahead of their Euro 2024 campaign.
