A man from Huddersfield is planning to finally build his dream home after winning a £164,000 jackpot at a local casino.

The 64-year-old punter won the money at Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield and is now planning to splash the cash. The mystery man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, appeared to have lady luck on his side after placing a £1 bet in the Blackjack side bet game, Ace King Progressive, before taking on the dealer and emerging victorious.

To win from a £1 chip, both the player and the dealer must draw a Blackjack match by both holding the Ace and King of the same suit.

The winner, who is also a regular at the casino, was ecstatic when he realised that he had won the £164,465 jackpot prize and immediately jumped for joy, punching the air.

The Huddersfield native is now able to make his dreams become a reality as he plans on beginning construction work on his dream home after aspiring to do so for years.

Speaking about his jackpot prize, the Huddersfield winner said: “It’s honestly the best feeling ever, I cannot put into words how happy I am after winning.

“Never in a million years did I expect I’d walk out of the casino that night £164,000 richer after only placing a £1 bet. I’ve had plans to build a house for a while now, so I’m going to put the money towards that. Dreams do come true.”

Garry Oldfield, general manager at Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield, said: “A huge congratulations to our lucky winner from everyone here at the casino. It was incredible to witness how he turned a £1 bet into a small fortune,

“It’s amazing to be able to make people’s dreams come true with our jackpot wins.”
