A woman has been seriously injured in a crash involving two vehicles in Bradford.

The crash happened just after midnight on Tuesday, June 4, at the junction of Great Horton Road and Gathorne Street in Great Horton. A woman, who was trapped in one of the cars, was freed and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A driver was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while over the prescribed limit for alcohol.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “At 00.05 this morning (4 June) police were called to Great Horton Road to reports of two vehicles in collision. A woman has been taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the proscribed limit. Enquiries are ongoing.”

A fire service spokesman said a casualty with head injuries had been freed from one vehicle by fire crews. Two other casualties were out of one vehicle as fire crews arrived at the scene.
