Jake Paul‘s much-anticipated bout with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, originally set for July 20, has been postponed due to Tyson’s recent medical scare. Initially, there were plans to continue with the fight despite Tyson’s health scare. However, it became clear that Tyson couldn’t fully train for the match, leading to the bout’s rescheduling to November 15.

In light of this delay, Paul has decided not to wait and will face a new opponent on July 20. Reports from various sources, including MMA legend BJ Penn, indicate that Paul will take on former UFC fighter and current Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) star Mike Perry.

Jake Paul cries in the rain after learning Mike Tyson fight is postponed

An official announcement is expected from Paul and his Most Valuable Promotions company soon.

This situation leaves some uncertainty regarding whether Paul will still fight Tyson in November or if the bout with Perry will be an exhibition. Nonetheless, the clash between Paul and Perry is expected to be a compelling matchup.

Paul and Perry’s records

Known for his time in the UFC with a 14-8 record, Perry left the organization after several controversies, including an altercation and a video where he used racial slurs. Perry then moved to BKFC, debuting on February 19, 2022, with a win over Julian Lane.

Perry has since maintained an undefeated 5-0 record in BKFC, defeating notable former UFC fighters like Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Thiago Alves.

Meanwhile, Paul has been on a winning streak since his first professional boxing loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023. He defeated former UFC fighter Nate Diaz by unanimous decision on August 5, 2023, and went on to knock out Andre August on December 15, 2023, and Ryan Bourland on March 2, 2024.
