The Los Angeles Lakers got the second-most important part of their offseason done this week, filling their head coaching vacancy by hiring JJ Redick. The most important part will be keeping LeBron James in Los Angeles.
By all accounts, it appears that James won’t be going anywhere. The Phoenix Suns have been rumored as a possibility, but the odds are high that he will remain a Laker. But the LA front office must keep him happy, and they can do so by adding talent to the roster.
Will Dejounte Murray or Trae Young be trade targets for Lakers?
Trae Young‘s name has frequently popped up in trade rumors for the Lakers, but it could be his Atlanta Hawks teammate Dejounte Murray who has more of a chance to get to the West Coast.
Shams Charania isn’t saying the Lakers have brought up Murray in trade discussions, but he thinks he will. Young is still being mentioned as an option, but Murray could be had for cheaper and could be a more shrewd move.
The Lakers are coming off of another disappointing season, which could lead to them being extremely aggressive this offseason. The roster needs more talent and high-profile players.
