Everyone is still recovering from Saturday night. Fans are still stunned, Ryan Garcia is making Instagram reels of him dancing, and Devin Haney is reeling from a brutal setback.

Devin Haney shamelessly celebrates loss to Ryan Garcia with extravagant cake

Haney had kept relatively quiet except for a couple of tweets immediately following fight night. But on late Wednesday night, Haney came out with a statement that has gotten everyone talking.

Devin Haney believes Ryan Garcia won because of weight difference

Haney calls for as rematch in the statement, while also inferring that Garcia’s added weight of three pounds played a role in the outcome of the fight.

The key word from Haney is “fair“. He doesn’t believe Garcia won fair and square. Therefore, he wants to make sure that something like that wouldn’t happen in a rematch.

The problem is that a rematch may never happen, and it has nothing to do with Haney himself.

Oscar De La Hoya shuts down Devin Haney’s rematch request because of Eddie Hearn

On the Instagram post where Haney shared the statement, Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, commented that a rematch will not happen due to Eddie Hearn. The two then went at it in the comments.

Hearn is Haney’s promoter and has delivered plenty of big fights in the UK and US alike. If Haney and Garcia both really want a rematch, odds are it will happen despite their promoters’ differences.
