Arsenal are ‘tracking RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate’

Arsenal are ‘tracking RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konte’ ahead of a potential move in the summer, according to the Evening Standard

Reports say that a number of European clubs are keeping tabs on Konte, in the hopes he will be available for transfer in the next window.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be looking to rebuild his back line ahead of next season after letting Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos go in January.

RB Leipzig are currently challenging for the Bundesliga title. They’re just two points behind leaders Bayern Munich, and have won their last five league games.

Konate has only made eight appearances in the German top flight this season, five of which have been from the bench, due to muscle and ankle injuries.

Arteta recently revealed he is planning to do an ‘unprecedented’ amount of transfer business this summer as he looks to get the club challenging for trophies again.

Arsenal currently find themselves in a disappointing 10th position in the Premier League, and will be hoping to finish higher up the table in order to secure more cash to spend at the end of the season.

The Spaniard admitted that getting back into the Champions League would be a big factor in their dealings.
