When you’ve hit the town for a birthday blow-out, a big bash the next night can hold little appeal – let alone when it’s hundreds of miles away.
But hours after Lily James was seen looking a little bleary-eyed leaving a London hotel, she showed no signs of slowing down her 35th celebrations as she travelled to Milan for a fashion exhibition.
On Friday, the star of Downton Abbey celebrated her birthday in a £10,000 outfit at London’s ‘most exclusive’ private members’ club, Apollo’s Muse.
The actress beamed as she headed into the Mayfair venue accompanied by two men in matching cream suits.
Ms James, who partied into the early hours with her actress friend Gemma Chan and magician Dynamo, wore a £4,639 polka dot Yves Saint Laurent dress. Around her shoulders was a Burberry coat, which usually sells for about £2,000.

Ms James also wore £875 gold Jimmy Choo sandals and accessorised the look with a £2,500 Dolce & Gabbana black handbag.
The actress shared an online picture of herself surrounded by flowers and balloons as well as a birthday message from Spice Girl Emma Bunton.
Apollo’s Muse is marketed as one of ‘the most private of private members’ clubs’, and is within Mayfair’s Bacchanalia restaurant, believed to be one of Ms James’s favourite venues.
Only 500 people are granted membership, making it one of the most exclusive clubs in the world.
Designed by Richard Caring, the billionaire club mogul behind Annabel’s and The Ivy, it is frequented by famous names including model Kate Moss.

For her second party in 36 hours, Ms James ditched the neutral shades of the previous night and opted for a black two-piece consisting of a sheer halter neck top and wide-leg trousers

Yesterday the jet-setting may have continued for the actress as she was believed to have flown back to the UK to prepare for the upcoming release of mystery-comedy film Greedy People.
The actress was first attached to the project in May of 2022, when Deadline revealed that she had joined its cast.
Greedy People will be centered on a police officer who is tasked with investigating a murder and the sudden discovery of a large sum of money in a sleepy town.

Although Shooting took place in the summer of 2022, Greedy People has yet to be assigned a premiere date.
Lily will also star in the thriller feature Relay, to which she was initially linked in February of last year.
The performer will portray a client who seeks the assistance of a corporate fixer after her life is endangered.
