A 13-year-old murder suspect burnt a car and bought gloves which were used in a gang shooting, the Old Bailey heard today.

The schoolboy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is said to have assisted in the ‘tit-for-tat’ revenge hit in Hayes, west London, last October 13.

Mr Hassan was found with gunshot injuries and, despite the best efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene, in Austin Road, a short time later.

The 13-year-old boy appeared in court via a video-link from a secure unit in Bristol wearing a pale blue T-shirt and raised his hand to confirm his name and date of birth.

Duncan Atkinson, QC, prosecuting said the 13-year-old was aware of the plan to kill Mr Hassan.

‘He was assisting with a group of others with a plan, of which the Crown say he was fully aware, to carry out a shooting.

‘Assisting them by the acquisition of gloves in advance and the burning of a vehicle that had been used in the shooting immediately afterwards.

The 13-year-old is charged with murder and perverting the course of justice.

Guled Hassan, of Southall, Ayres, from Northolt, and the 16-year-old are all charged with murder.

There will be a further preliminary hearing at the Old Bailey tomorrow.
