Britain’s Got Talent judges couldn’t hold back their tears during Sunday night’s show as they watched an eight-year-old boy with a brain tumour perform.

Ravi sang with his choir, Ravi’s Dream Team, and were put straight through to the semi-finals as they landed a golden buzzer from Alesha Dixon, after moving her and her fellow judges to tears.

And he insists he will give the £250,000 prize money to charity if he wins.

Taking to the stage, Ravi introduced his sister, mother and father to the judges and explained his reasoning for being on the show as he stood alongside the group, ranging from age five to 78.

He said: ‘I’ve watched BGT all my life and always wanted to audition for it.

‘Two years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and I’m here to show no matter what life throws you can still achieve your dreams.’

Ravi and the choir performed A Million Dreams from the hit movie The Greatest Showman which left everyone incredibly emotional.

Explaining why she pressed the buzzer, Alesha said: ‘The golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it when it feels right and you’re such a remarkable young man.’

The judges then got to their feet as the members of the choir, which comprised Ravi’s friends, family, teachers from school, medical professionals and other children from the brain tumour community, hugged each other in celebration.

ITV viewers quickly took to X to say they were also in ‘floods of tears’ and that the performance was ‘well deserved’ of the golden buzzer.

They wrote: ‘Britains got talent has got me crying, that golden buzzer was well deserved; Britains Got Talent…… sobbing; Britains got talent is a emotional one tonight; I’m in floods of tears. Close to home as my daughter had a stage 4 brain tumour so we’ve had the 18 months from hell’

Ravi has said he will give the show’s £250,000 prize money to charity  if he wins the competition.

He was contacted by Britain’s Got Talent after they saw his previous efforts to raise funds for Brains Trust and The Brain Tumour Charity, with Ravi having raised £109,000 at the time ofd writing.

He told The Sun: ‘I didn’t see Alesha pressing her golden buzzer because we were bowing!

‘There was all this confetti, but it took all of our brains a long time to draw the connection to the buzzer.

‘I’ve met famous people before, but in the moment it felt different to that — like they believed in what we were trying to do.

‘If we won it would help us reach our fundraising goal, but also winning would just bring so much more awareness of brain tumours.’

It comes after the ITV show was plunged into a fix row already as one hopeful from Saturday’s series premiere was revealed to be an experienced musical theatre performer.

Sydnie Christmas, 28, stunned judges Simon Cowell, Alesha and Bruno Tonioli with her incredible rendition of Tomorrow from the musical Annie, with Amanda so impressed she pressed the Gold Buzzer.

However despite revealing her dreams of working in the West End and her current role as a receptionist, viewers quickly discovered Sydnie had in fact had quite the career on stage.

Following the performance fans took to X in their droves, with one writing: ‘Always good to see an underdog on @BGT like Sydnie Christmas. Jeez. A simple Google search… wtf!’

Explaining why she pressed the buzzer, Alesha said: 'The golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it when it feels right and you're such a remarkable young man'

While others wrote: ‘Come on, Sydnie Christmas is already a professional’: ‘Sydnie Christmas has starred in Starlight Exoress in Bochum, Germany, and Lazarus at London’s King’s Cross Theatre. And starred as Rizzo in a Grease theatre show. No Newbie then’: ‘Sydnie Christmas, Starlight Express. Just a quick Google search.’

Sydnie has worked on cruise ships including the Royal Caribbean International, where she starred as Rizzo in the musical Grease.

She made her debut in London as one of the lead voices in Lazarus, featuring the music of David Bowie, at the King’s Cross Theatre and shared a snap backstage of Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson after he attended the show.

She then went on to appear in a German production of Starlight Express in 2019 as Belle the Bar Car.
