A young mother tragically lost her husband, son, and mom in a car crash that involved a semi truck on Monday afternoon.

Jernelle Larson of West Virginia, mother of eight-year-old Dylan, told an Ohio news station that ‘time is still’ for her right now.

‘It’s unbearable, and it’s not moving, but I’m trying,’ the devastated mother said.

Troopers said that Jernelle’s mother, Deanna Early, 56, had been driving an SUV east on US 35 and was attempting to make a left turn when she was hit by a semi truck.

The family’s vehicle was forced off the side of the road before it smashed into a guardrail and a tree.

Investigators say the SUV did not yield to oncoming traffic and was hit by the tractor-trailer.

Early, Dylan, and Larson’s husband, Donavan Larson, 51, all died of injuries sustained during the crash, which took place at about 4.30pm on Monday.

The driver of the semi truck was uninjured.

Jernelle said her husband had been on his way back from North Dakota, where he was visiting family after losing his grandson to SIDS.

Her mother and son went to pick him up from the airport. It was on the way back that they got into the fatal wreck.

Dylan is being remembered by members of the Culloden, West Virginia community as an extremely happy child with an outgoing personality.

His mother, who has another child – a daughter named Mariah – said he loved to play sports, which his coaches confirmed.

One of them, Dionte Coleman, said that to know Dylan ‘was to love him.’

‘He was in our life for such a short amount of time and changed everybody’s life in that amount of time. It’s just mesmerizing.’

Staff at his elementary school added that Dylan ‘was a great friend to many of our students and will be missed terribly.’

Jernelle, while still in shock, mourned the loss of her husband, mother, and young son’s life:

‘He will never walk his daughters down the aisle. My son will never go to prom. My son won’t graduate. My mother won’t live out the life she deserves, and it all happened instantly,’ she said.

Friends in the community are raising money for the Larsons in their time of need.

A GoFundMe has raised close to $17,000 for funeral and other expenses.
