Ben Brown had a kick for goal from the boundary and he was shown receiving a lot of ‘encouragement’ from a rough-looking collection of Power fans.

The encouragement must have helped as Brown kicked it right through the middle of the goals.

Ivan Soldo has pushed forward for the Power and earned a free kick in front of goal before going back and kicking the major.

Todd Marshall followed that with a goal in his 100th game. He was crowded by every one of his teammates.

The Power have made their sub as well with Francis Evans off and Jase Burgoyne on.

Alex Neal-Bullen has stepped up with the Demons needed a lift taking a mark just inside the 50m arc and booting a goal.

You can’t give Willie Rioli an inch in the Power forward line and he just reminded the Demons of this.

Rioli marked the ball in the pocket and when his man flew over the top of him, he sprinted into goal, even taking a bounce before booting it into the night.

Port Adelaide and Melbourne are all square after an engrossing, seesawing first half at Adelaide Oval.

The small but spirited congregation of Demon supporters camped behind the goals at the Cathedral End made plenty of noise when the visitors started the second quarter with a hat-trick of goals, pulling away by 13 points.

Tom Sparrow kickstarted the streak when he converted inside the first 20 seconds from the centre-bounce and Power defender Esava Raugolea finished it with a brain fade in defence, spilling an uncontested mark behind the goal line to gift Kysaiah Pickett an easy one.

Port got their kick-mark game going and defied Maz Gawn’s ruck ascendancy to get on top at the clearances and slot the next three before Jack Viney, in his 200th game, tied it away with his goal on the burst just before the siren.

The Power should be in front at the main break as they dominated the back end of the quarter but Jack Viney’s team-lifting goal has made sure the two clubs are locked together at the main break.

It should be a cracking second half.
