Victor Wembanyama was as good as advertised, if not even better, in his first season in the NBA as a 20-year-old. His final per game averages came out to a lofty 21.4/10.6/3.9/1.2/3.6.

Of course, there’s still plenty of small things Wemby can improve on, like his three-point shooting percentage, but he showed a ton of development throughout the year.

Kevin Durant influenced Wemby with subtle move

When asked by The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor which move he would steal from another player, Wembanyama’s mind went straight to Kevin Durant.

Wemby talks of a specific hesitation move that Durant does that makes defenders freeze, and allows him to get space or blow by them.

Wembanyama also mentioned Durant as one of his “basketball role models” while he grew up. Unsurprisingly, Giannis Antetokounmpo was the other name he said.

Some of the fans in the replies commented on how ridiculous of a player Wembanyama would become if he develops some of the same offensive skills Durant has. His ceiling is truly more than sky-high.
