HT: Crystal Palace 1-1 Everton

HT: Arsenal 1-0 Burnley

GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 Burnley (Trossard)

The Belgian shows great bravery to get his head on Saka’s flick on at the far post. Trossard looks to have come off pretty badly and may have to be replaced.

The Gunners will hope they can get him in and assess the damage at the break.

Burnley carry a threat

The away side thought they should have had a free-kick in a dangerous position when Koleosho went down under the challenge of Saka.

Michael Oliver waved their protests away.

Burnley mistake presents Trossard with a chance

Brownhill lost the ball in his own half and was nearly made to pay but the Gunners failed to capitalise on their two v one.

Trossard eventually picked up the ball and had an effort on goal that Trafford was able to palm away.

Raya forced into action

Burnley catch Arsenal napping but their keeper is on hand to save the day. Gudmunsson ran through on goal from a through ball and shot across the Spaniard who replied with a great save to keep the score level.

Gunners are knocking on the door

Havertz misses a golden chance for the home side. The German nodded his free header over the bar from six yards.

Glorious play from Arsenal

The home side are starting to purr. Zinchenko and Saka linked up wonderfully on teh right hand side before the England international flashed a cross into the box.

Unfortunately for the home side the Burnley defence cleared away to avert another attack.

Arsenal have finally woken up!

Trafford with a wonderful save

Saka had a snap shot on his right foot from edge of the box that was arrowing into the top corner. If not for Trafford’s superb right hand the away side’s defence would have finally been breached.

Burnley’s 4-4-2 proving frustrating

Arsenal are being met with a determined Burnley rearguard at present. The away side are doubling up in wide areas to restrict Saka and Martinelli.

The Gunners will have to find some invention without their creative skipper.

Arsenal still trying to find their range

The home side have commanded most of the ball as expected but there has been a real lack of intent in the final third.

Arteta will be keen to see his side be more aggressive and move the ball quicker to wrong foot the Burnley defensive line that looks comfortable at the moment.

Burnley have started positively

Kompany will be pleased with the way his side have started at the Emirates. Amdouni fired a strike from range that tested Raya and earned the Clarets their first corner of the game.

Arsenal by contrast have been measured, tame even.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-1 Everton (Eze)

Palace’s star man gets them back on level terms after only four minutes. The midfielder kept his cool to slot home from the spot after the Eagles were awarded a penalty for a foul on the 25-year-old.

GOAL! Crystal Palace 0-1 Everton (Mykolenko)

Sean Dyche’s team make a fast start in South London and take the lead through Mykolenko, who has now scored in back-to-back games.

More injury concerns for the Gunners

Ben White hasn’t made it into the Arsenal squad for the game today. The defender had started all 11 games in the league and played the full 90 minutes in midweek against Sevilla.

‘Ben White finished the game against Sevilla with some issues and hasn’t had enough time to recover.’ Arteta said of his absent defender.

Dyche’s Everton revival

Everton could go eight points clear of the drop zone with a win at Selhurst Park this afternoon. After starting the season with four consecutive losses Sean Dyche has spearheaded a revival that has made the Toffees look more than capable of staying in the division this term.

Arteta anticipates a difficult clash against a side who have deserved more

‘Looking back on the games they have played and the results they’ve got, in some of them they merited much more than what they got.’ Arteta said in his pre-match press conference. ‘I don’t think it reflects actually what they deserved in games.

‘But that is the difficulty of this league. Sometimes when you deserve more you don’t get it because the quality of the oppositions is so high.

‘But the way they have transformed their way of playing, the club, and how they continue to play with the belief that they do, for me it’s remarkable.’

Kompany puts things into perspective amid the Clarets’ difficult start

‘I didn’t sign up for the job to just win the league with 101 points.’ Kompany said in his pre-match press conference. ‘If you sign up as a manager, there are only very few people that win.

‘It’s usually the same guy and he’s bald like me. You have to put things into perspective – very few managers win trophies.

‘What [Arteta] has done at Arsenal is completely in line with his personality.

‘He started with some tough challenges, but he managed to rally the club behind him, and they’ve built a team that is one of the best in the league. Nobody doubted that he would be a good manager.’

Good afternoon!

And welcome to the Mail Sport’s coverage of Arsenal’s clash with Burnley and Crystal Palace’s visit of Everton.

At the Emirates, Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to get back to winning ways after their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle last week, while Vincent Kompany and Burnley are in desperate need of a win.

The away side have won just once in the league this term and that victory did come away from home, though it was against fellow newly-promoted side Luton. There are next to no expectations for the Clarets this afternoon but after losing so many games at home, Kompany’s team need to start getting points where they’re not expected to.

In South London Palace welcome a rejuvenated Everton side in 16th. The hosts are five places higher in 11th and this promises to be an intruiging encounter between two competative outfits.

We’ll have team news ahead of the 3pm kick-offs and then updates as and when the goals start flying in!
