A cyclist was sent flying into the air after a car, whose driver came just inches from the white line, clipped his bike’s wheel.
Graphic footage taken in Newcastle over the weekend shows the silver sedan knock the rider, who was then slammed into the road.
The incident caused a domino effect that led to several other fellow cyclists colliding and falling off their bikes.

NSW Police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
‘The incident has been reported to police and officers have commenced inquiries,’ a spokeswoman said.
‘Anyone with information is urged to come forward.’
The footage, which was taken on one of the cyclist’s helmet cams, then showed the group of riders helping each other off the road, in visible pain.
Social media users expressed their outrage at the driver’s ‘negligence’.
‘Horrendous actions by the car…sure the cyclists were a tad close to the line but can you imagine if that was you getting knocked by a passing car? Horrible,’ one person wrote.
‘That was deliberate. Whether you agree with the riders riding on the side of the road or not, it’s the law to maintain a distance to keep everyone safe,’ another comment read.
