Round Four: Joseph Parker growing in confidence

Parker is growing in confidence and he catches Wilder on the ropes.

But Wilder fires back and comes within a whisker of landing his own right hand. That’s the danger shot.

The fight is starting to open up a bit more, but Parker remains on top.

Round Three: Parker just edging things so far

The pattern of the fight remains the same, and Parker just has to be a little careful that he doesn’t get caught with anything when he launches his attacks from afar.

Wilder falls in and Wilder lands a short uppercut on the inside but Parker takes it well. Parker then nails Wilder with a stiff jab. Another close round.

Round Two: Very cautious start from both men

Parker wings in a big right hand but Wilder slips out of the way at the last second.

The pair finally exchange as Parker leaps in, but again, nothing lands cleanly. Not a lot to split them so far through the first two rounds.

Round One: Very cagey opening round

Wilder opts to stay on the outside as Parker follows him around the ring.

Plenty of respect from both men, with Parker showing a little more ambition but he fails to land anything of note.

Deontay Wilder is set to enter the ring with a crown on his head

We’ve just had a sneak peak inside Deontay Wilder’s dressing room as he is preparing to walk to the ring with a crown on his head.

The co-main event is just minutes away. Can Joseph Parker spoli Wilder’s plans to fight Joshua next year?

Will Deontay Wilder make a statement?

Wilder has not fought yet in 2023, so is looking to make up for lost time tonight.

Deontay Wilder is up NEXT

Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev?

Eddie Hearn confirms that Bivol will look to face Beterbiev NEXT if the Russian can get past Brit Callum Smith in Canada on January 13.

Lyndon Arthur states in his post-fight interview that he believes Bivol would win that contest for th undisputed light-heavyweight title.

Hearn also says Bivol has a deal with Suadi Arabia for that potential fight.

Dmitry Bivol: ‘It was good sparring for me’

Bivol has compared the fight to a sparring session, suggesting it was far too easy for him.

He says in the ring that he ‘sees his path to undisputed’ as he calls for a fight with fellow champion Artur Beterbiev or Britain’s Callum Smith, with the duo set to face each other next month.

Bivol insists he doesn’t mind who he faces out of Beterbiev or Smith, he just wants the winner!

Dmitry Bivol beats Lyndon Arthur on points

All three judges score the bout 120-107 to Bivol who retains his title.

A brave effort from Arthur, but he was unable to win a round.

Round 12: Lyndon Arthur hears the final bell

Bivol wants the finish as he pummels Arthur on the ropes. The referee threatens to jump in to stop the fight, but Arthur holds on.

Arthur then lands a good body punch of his own before Bivol has one final go at forcing a stoppage.

Arthur deservedly hears the final bell but he probably hasn’t won a round against the classy Bivol tonight.

Round 11: Dmitry Bivol drops Lyndon Arthur with a body shot!

More of the same from Bivol and then he drops Arthur in the final seconds of the round with a sickening left hook to the body.

Arthur gets back to his feet and the bell saves him. Will we see a stoppage in the final round?

Round 10: Dmitry Bivol traps Lyndon Arthur in the corner

After his brief moment of success in round eight, Arthur is on the receiving end of some hurtful punches from Bivol once more.

He gets trapped in the corner and Bivol tees off. Another round for Bivol, will Arthur make it to the final bell?

Round Nine: Dmitry Bivol back in control

Bivol may have been hurt in the last round but he gets straight back to work in round nine and starts teeing off on Arthur in the corner.

The referee takes a close look, but Arthur parries the shots well gets himself out of trouble.

Good response from Bivol after a slight setback in round eight, though, and he clearly takes that round.

Round Eight: Lyndon Arthur hurts Dmitry Bivol to the body

The pattern of this fight hasn’t changed since the first bell.

Bivol continues to push forward and Arthur smiles at him, but he isn’t smiling when Bivol lands a body shot.

But then Arthur lands a body shot of his own and Bivol is briefly hurt! He goes into his shell but then finishes the round strongly. That’s the best round of the fight so far.

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - DECEMBER 23: Lyndon Arthur punches Dmitry Bivol during the IBO and WBA Super World Light Heavyweight title fight between Dmitry Bivol and Lyndon Arthur during the Day of Reckoning: Fight Night at Kingdom Arena on December 23, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Round Seven: Dmitry Bivol coasting

Arthur has not been hurt for a few rounds now but he is not inflicting any damage of his own either.

Bivol steps in and out of range so well, and looks so classy when he rattles off his combinations. We are only just over halfway, but already Arthur needs a knockout to win this.

Round Six: Dmitry Bivol going through the gears

Arthur simply isn’t throwing enough to win these rounds.

Bivol’s jab is controlling this fight, and he has probably won every round as we reach the halfway point of this championship contest.

Round Five: Quieter round but Dmitry Bivol still on top

Arthur lands a good body shot but that’s about his only success of the round.

A quiter round but Bivol lands a crisp right hand inside the final 30 seconds and remains in control.

Conor McGregor and Cristiano Ronaldo talk boxing

This is pretty surreal as McGregor and Ronaldo speak about the fights coming up this evening at ringside.

Round Four: Dmitry Bivol in complete control

Bivol just looking to open Arthur up with feints before putting his cominations together.

The lead left hook from Bivol is working well, and he is definitely producing the classier shots.

Arthur is also feinting a lot, but looks a little nervous to over-commit in case he gets punished. Another round for Bivol.

Round Three: Lyndon Arthur in survival mode

Bivol is boxing with so much confidence and putting his shots together at will.

Arthur grins back at him but he appears to be in survival mode already.

To his credit, Arthur starts to throw back a little more in the final minute, but that’s three rounds in the bank for Bivol.

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - DECEMBER 23: Dmitry Bivol punches Lyndon Arthur during the IBO and WBA Super World Light Heavyweight title fight between Dmitry Bivol and Lyndon Arthur during the Day of Reckoning: Fight Night at Kingdom Arena on December 23, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images)

Round Two: Dmitry Bivol starting to tee off

Arthur is not throwing much more than a jab while Bivol has much more variety.

He starts to tee off on Arthur on the ropes and appears to briefly stun the Brit. Arthur takes the shots well, but that was a big round for the Russian.

Round One: Dmitry Bivol gets straight to work

Arthur goes on the back foot straight away against the technically excellent Bivol.

Arthur’s jab is working well, but Bivol looks more comfortable when he puts his combinations together and he nicks the opening round.

Dmitry Bivol vs Lyndon Arthur starts…

Next up with be light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol against Britain’s Lyndon Arthur.

Both men will be in the ring very shortly.

Anthony Joshua arrives!

Anthony Joshua is in the building and looking relaxed ahead of headlining this huge card in Riyadh.

Lennox Lewis gives his verdict on Anthony Joshua

Lewis feels Joshua wants to prove he is still ‘a man to be reckoned with’ tonight.

He also warns Joseph Parker that he has to be careful of Deontay Wilder’s right hand when they meet later this evening.

But Lewis does believe that Wilder’s lack of activity over the last two years could be a factor when he faces Parker.

Lennox Lewis praises Daniel Dubois

Lennox Lewis joins TNT Sports from Canada and says Dubois ‘learnt about himself’ tonight.

He calls for Dubois to ‘target one of the big guys’ to put himself back in the title mix next year.

Lewis adds that Miller ‘wanted to test his heart’ but feels Dubois was too smart for him and forced the American to ‘punch himself out’.

Daniel Dubois: ‘That was a big moment’

Dubois is now talking to TNT Sports and admits this was a ‘big moment’ in his career.

‘Whatever I was lacking before I feel like I’ve gained it tonight and that was experience.’

Frank Warren adds: ‘He’s back at the big table. The last one was the world title and this one was redemption. A great fight for him, and for me, proves all the doubters wrong. He had to suck up there, he had to dig deep. Hats off to him, he’s done the business.’

Devin Haney wishes Deontay Wilder luck

Newly-crowned WBC light-welterweight Devin Haney is in Saudi Arabia and has popped into Deontay Wilder’s dressing room to wish his fellow American luck.

We expect to see Wilder in the ring in the next 90 minutes or so.

Jarrell Miller didn’t want a decision, and he didn’t get one!

Jarrell Miller posted on Instagram before the fight that he was not happy with the British referee and judges for this fight, declaring that he would not let the fight go to a decision.

In the end he was right, as he was stopped for the first time in his career. Dubois closed the show in stunning fashion.

Daniel Dubois: ‘I silenced all the doubters’

‘I had to dig very deep. I’m glad I did it,’ Dubois says in the ring.

‘I had to prove it to myself that I was a real champion and I silenced all the doubters tonight.’

He then says to Miller: ‘We’re friends for life now!’

Miller then takes to the mic and says Dubois ‘has my respect’, before Dubois insists he wants to ‘fight the best’ after winning tonight.

Daddy Cool blasts out around the arena

Daniel Dubois said he was going to be Jarrell Miller’s ‘daddy’ tonight, and after his win we can now hear Boney M’s 1976 hit ‘Daddy Cool’ being played in the arena.

Impeccable timing with that one.

Daniel Dubois can’t stop smiling

Dubois had all the pressure on him tonight but he delivered in big fashion and got the knockout he was after.

A big 2024 surely lies in wait for the Brit now.

Round 10: Daniel Dubois wins by knockout!

Miller stalks Dubois around the ring but it is the Brit who is picking the better punches.

Dubois can’t miss in this final round as he rattles home right hands, uppercuts and his jab. He is going through his full repertoire and Miller has no answer.

Miller sticks out his tongue but he is getting beaten up in this final round. Dubois keeps going and the referee steps in and stops it with just seconds remaining!

That was brilliant from Dubois. He had his mettle tested tonight but he kept going and the referee had no option but to jump in.

Round Nine: Daniel Dubois closing in on victory

Dubois comes out fast once again and lands a combination that appears to hurt Miller briefly.

Dubois continues to work the body, and then lands a lovely uppercut on the inside.

Miller has proved his toughness but he is losing these rounds and surely needs a knockout in the final round to win this.

Round Eight: Daniel Dubois back on top

Dubois looked really tired a couple of rounds ago but seems to have found a second wind and now Miller is slowing down.

Dubois lands some clean right hands over the top before being warned for a low blow. He avoids a point deduction, though, and that is a clear Dubois round.

Deontay Wilder is here!

Wilder has arrived for his fight which is only a couple of hours away.

Can he beat Joseph Parker to remain on course for a fight with Anthony Joshua?

Round Seven: Daniel Dubois bleeding from his mouth

Dubois comes out for this round with a spring in his step, but gets caught by a straight right hand to stop him in his tracks.

Miller is upping his work rate and there’s a real lack of head movement from Dubois. Blood coming from the mouth of the Brit who is really having to tough this out.

Dubois gets back behind his jab in the final minute of the round and that might just be enough for him to nick it on the scorecards.

Round Six: Both men looking tired

Not much quality in that round, but it’s Dubois who lands the cleaner shots to take it.

Four rounds left, are we going the distance for the first time tonight, or is a big knockout on the way?

Round Five: Huge shots being thrown on the inside

Dubois lands a flurry of punches at the start of the round but he is getting dragged into the fight that Miller wants.

There is a pattern emerging here as Dubois starts rounds well but then Miller comes on strong.

We are halfway through this 10-rounder and Dubois must be ahead on the scorecards, but Miller is very much still in this.

Round Four: Marking around Daniel Dubois’ eye

Dubois is still getting the better of this in the early stages of round four and lands a lovely jab that draws a gasp from the crowd, but he has some marking around his eye.

Then Miller catches Duboid cleanly! All of a sudden, Dubois looks very tired and it’s Miller who is on top. That’s a clear round for the American.

Round Three: Fast pace with little to split the pair

Dubois is starting to hold his feet more and he gets the better of an exchange on the inside in the opening minute of round three.

Miller is having very little success when loading up, but his jab is starting to work well as he catches Dubois on multiple occasions in the final minute.

Round Two: Daniel Dubois remains on top

Miller is coming forward with a high guard and Dubois fancies his chances of going through the middle with the right uppercut.

He starts to have more success in the second round, but Miller is a tough cookie and takes them well.

Miller then has a flurry at the end of the round, that will give him some confidence.

Round One: Daniel Dubois targets the body

Dubois is on the back foot but Miller hardly throws a punch in the first round.

Dubois is clearly targeting the body and a couple of punches stray low, but it’s a clear first round in favour of the Brit.

Dubois makes his way to the ring…

And here comes Dubois. A lot of pressure on this young man, can he come through this test and put his loss to Oleksandr Usyk behind him?

Here comes Jarrell Miller…

The American makes his way to the ring as he looks to upset the odds and beat Daniel Dubois.

Jarrell Miller targeting Anthony Joshua after blowing 2019 world title shot

Jarrell Miller has not just been focused on Dubois this week as he has also engaged in trash talk with Anthony Joshua.

Miller failed multiple drugs tests in the build-up to his scheduled fight with AJ in 2019, but has not given up hope of getting another chance against him, and a win against Dubois could edge him nearer to that fight.

Jarrell Miller sharpening up on the pads

We are being made to wait, but I promise Dubois vs Miller is on the way!

Right now, Miller is on the pads in his dressing room. He looks to be conserving his energy after weighing in at almost 24 stone yesterday.

Jarrell Miller pushed Daniel Dubois at the weigh-in

There has been plenty of back and forth between Dubois and Miller this week, and the controversial American pushed his rival after weighing in almost 100 pounds heavier than him yesterday.

Daniel Dubois going through his final warm-up

We’ve had a bit of a pause from the live action simply because of how quickly the first four fights have finished.

But we will be seeing Daniel Dubois up against Jarrell Miller next in a crossroads fight for both men.

Tony Bellew gives his verdict on tonight’s fights

Former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew has just told TNT Sports that Deontay Wilder beating Joseph Parker would represent the best win of his career.

He has also warned Daniel Dubois to be careful if his fight with Jarrell Miller gets into the latter rounds.

Chris Eubank Jr arrives

We are expecting some of boxing’s biggest stars to be in attendance tonight, and Chris Eubank Jr has just entered the building.

Eubank Jr is still looking for his next opponent after talks over a grudge match with Conor Benn broke down.

Main event predictions

We are just a couple of fights away from seeing Deontay Wilder and then Anthony Joshua step into the ring.

Mail Sport has looked at how fighters have predicted tonight’s main two fights will pan out…

Mark De Mori loses in embarrassing fashion

We’ve seen three very good knockouts, and one, well let’s just say not so good one.

Here’s a look at how Mark De Mori was stopped inside two minutes by Filip Hrgovic earlier this evening…

Daniel Dubois getting in the zone

Daniel Dubois is getting is hands taped as he prepares to face Jarrell Miller.

Can the Brit get his career back on track with a big win tonight?

Frank Warren hails Kabayel performance

It is hard not to be impressed by what Kabayel just produced, and promoter Frank Warren was blown away.

He has asked who Kabayel could target next, and I think fans would definitely be interested in seeing him again very soon.

Halfway through the card already!

Well, that’s four fights down, four to go.

All four fights have finished inside the distance so far, and here’s a reminder of how Jai Opetaia finished Ellis Zorro in spectacular fashion earlier.

Agit Kabayel: ‘I shocked the world’

‘When you talked with 10 guys, nine guys said I couldn’t win,’ Kabayel says as he speaks in the ring.

‘When they give me the next opportunity, I am ready!’

He certainly looked ready tonight, that was some performance.

Breathtaking body work from Kabayel

That was so clinical from Kabayel as he targeted the body of Makhmudov and left him slumped on the ropes.

Good refereeing as well to call it off, Makhmudov could have no complaints.

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - DECEMBER 23: Agit Kabayel punches Arslanbek Makhmudov during the WBA Inter-Continental & North American Boxing Federation Heavyweight title fight between Arslanbek Makhmudov and Agit Kabayel during the Day of Reckoning: Fight Night at Kingdom Arena on December 23, 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. (Photo by Richard Pelham/Getty Images)

Down goes Makhmudov…three times! And it’s over! Kabayel wins!

Kabayel attacks the body and Makhmudov has no answer. He goes down three times in quick succession and the fight is waved off. What an upset win for Kabayel!

Kabayel wobbles Makhmudov in the third!

What a round!

Kabayel starts to put his punches together and lands cleanly on Makhmudov who somehow stays on his feet.

Makhmudov is also landing as he refuses to give in but that was definitely a Kabayel round.

Big punches from the start

Makhmudov is certainly not the most technical fighter, some may say crude, as he misses by a distance with some of his punches.

But if he lands, Kabayel will certainly feel it!

Straight down to business

Makhmudov is straight on the front foot and looking for single shots, but Kabayel counters well in the opening round.

Not a lot in it, but it feels like it won’t take long for this fight to ignite.

Could be another quick finish on the cards

Makhmudov and Kabayel are both in the ring with the fourth fight of the evening set to get underway.

The first three bouts have ended early, and you’d be brave to bet on this one going the distance.

The fights are coming thick and fast

We have already had three of our eights fights scheduled for this evening.

Next yp will be another heavyweight fight between Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov and Germany’s Agit Kabayel.

If you haven’t seen Makhmudov before, he may just be the scariest looking

heavyweight I’ve ever seen!

Anthony Crolla: ‘No shame for Zorro, he’s lost to a special fighter’

Back in the TNT Sports studio, Anthony Crolla and Carl Frampton are both in agreement that Opetaia is a ‘special fighter’. Frampton also labels him a ‘violent puncher’ who is a pleasure to watch.

We only saw three minutes of him this evening but it is hard to disagree. That was mightily impressive.

Jai Opetaia: ‘He was too hesitant and he got clipped’

Opetaia is now speaking in the ring and feels Zorro paid the price for being too cautious.

Opetaia says ‘I’m excited for the next step’. When asked what is next on the agenda, he offers a chilling warning as he adds: ‘You just put the guys in front of me and I knock them out’.

Bang on the chin from Jai Opetaia

It’s a devastating knockout from Opetaia.

Thankfully, Zorro is back to his feet, but that was a huge shot he took as he loses his unbeaten record.

One and done, Jai Opetaia wins in spectacular fashion!

Wow, what a knockout from Jai Opetaia!

Ellis Zorro had actually made a decent start, but one huge left hook over the top sends Zorro straight to the canvas.

With his head on the bottom rope, there is no chance of him continuing.

Jai Opetaia vacates IBF title

Opetaia is no longer a world champion after vacating his belt earlier this week.

He has explained why he made the tough decision to give up his belt.

Aussie cruiserweight Jai Opetaia set to take to the ring

Jai Opetaia will be in the ring next to take on Britain’s Ellis Zorro in the cruiserweight division.

Opetaia is widely seen as the best 200lb fighter on the planet, and he is also backing an upset later on tonight’s card.

Andy Ruiz eyes 2024 return

Andy Ruiz, who famously beat Anthony Joshua in 2019, has vowed to return to the ring in 2024.

He has revealed to TNT Sports that he recently underwent shoulder surgery, but is in Saudi to look at potential future opponents as he aims to get back in the title mix.

What have you made of Anthony Joshua’s demeanour this week?

Anthony Joshua has looked razor-focused this week in Saudi, but this has also led to some awkward interview moments.

Some fans have not been impressed with Joshua’s demeanour as he heads into a make-or-break fight tonight.

Filip Hrgovic wins in the first round

Well that didn’t last long!

It looked like a mismatch on paper and that’s exactly how it turned out. Hrgovic has stopped De Mori inside two minutes as he moves closer to a world title shot.

Flip Hrgovic up next

From one heavyweight fight to another as we move onto Filip Hrgovic against Mark De Mori.

Hrgovic is unbeaten and is the IBF No1 contender, but is risking his position against De Mori, who famously lost to David Haye back in 2016.

Frank Sanchez remains unbeaten

That victory for Sanchez extends his unbeaten record to 24-0 with one no contest.

A strong performance from the Cuban heavyweight in the end as he continues to work his way up the rankings.

The undercard has started…

The first fight of the night has just finished with Frank Sanchez stopping Junior Fa in the seventh round.

After a quiet start, Sanchez sent Fa to the canvas in the sixth round, and the fight was waved off the following round.

Will we see some devastating knockouts tonight?

Tonight’s card in Saudi Arabia features some of the biggest punchers on the planet.

Mail Sport has looked at the best knockouts from the fighters who are set to star in Riyadh this evening.

Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren finally work together

After years of back and forth between the pair, Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren are finally working together to put this card together.

Hearn has admitted they would be ‘idiots’ to not work together tonight, suggesting they could collaborate again in the future.

Sports stars set to be at ringside in Saudi Arabia

We have seen a sneak peak of who will be at ringside tonight, and it’s a star-studded line-up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor McGregor set to be in attendance.

Anthony Joshua fighting for respect

Anthony Joshua is rebuilding his career after successive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Having previously been loved across the country, his popularity has waned in recent years, but a win tonight could see him start to win some fans over again.

Dubois vs Miller – Great showcase for the Brit

The spotlight on this huge card is great for someone like Dubois and if he can put Miller to the sword convincingly, he’ll think he’s right back in the mix with the big boys. Jeff Powell looks ahead to the fight here:

Can Parker or Wallin pull it off?

Joseph Parker and Otto Wallin certainly aren’t walkovers on paper.

The Saudis want competitive fights rather than hype-builders and they could have just that tonight.

It will be fascinating to see the kind of form the Brit and American are in against worthy opposition ahead of a potential meeting themselves in 2024.

Chess, property and biking – AJ’s home life

He’s a man dedicated to his craft but AJ has plenty of other outside interests when he’s switching off from the day job.

How good was this!?

Has AJ stumbled across winning partnership?

The turnover of coaches has been alarming for AJ but he seems to be enjoying a fruitful relationship with Ben Davison, could this be a new era under his tutelage?

Good afternoon and welcome!

What a night of boxing we have in store later. I don’t think there’s much doubt that this is the deepest card we’ve ever seen in terms of competitive match-ups and talent – which has to be a move in the right direction for boxing.

Wilder vs Joshua will surely loom large on the horizon but they must first overcome tricky opponents tonight who will be out to spoil the party. Stay tuned for all the build-up and then live action from the pre-lims and main card.
