She is the daughter of Najeme Minhaj (father) and Seema Minhaj (mother). Her mother took up where she had left off and moved to India to finish her medical degree at an Indian university. While her father is serving as a Chemist. Her parents are originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, and later moved to Davis, California, just a few years before the birth of Ayesha.

She has a brother who is a well-known comedian, Hasan Minhaj. Ayesha and her brother Hasan did not know each other until they were teenagers. While Hasan was eight years old, he first met his sister Ayesha.

She enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) after graduating from a nearby high school, where she later earned a political science bachelor’s degree in 2010. She decided to continue her studies, enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2012, where she later earned a doctorate in law in 2015.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Ayesha joined NBC News in September 2011 and worked there as a news associate for over a year before leaving in September 2012. She then began studying law and spent the three months of her summer break in 2013 working for NBC Universal Media LLC as their legal intern in the General Counsel’s office.

Hasan Minhaj is a comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and television host of Indian origin. He resigned from, The Daily Show in August 2018 to host Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, a weekly comedy show that began on Netflix on October 28, 2018.

In addition, he received his second Peabody Award for Patriot Act in April 2019, and he was named one of Time’s 100 most important people in the world. He had a recurring role in season 2 of the Apple TV+ program The Morning Show.
