Coco Lee parents did everything they could to cheer her up. However, she could not overcome her depression. Let’s see what the late star’s mother and father say about her untimely demise.
Ferren “Coco” Lee was a Hong Kong musician, actress, dancer, and singer. She began her career in Hong Kong and later expanded to Taiwan.
The actress has released 18 studio, two live, and five compilation albums, including her first English language album, Just No Other Way.
She was well-known for her roles in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Mulan, and Runaway Bride.
Lee’s single release, “Do You Want My Love,” received international recognition, entering the top 50 of the US Billboard Dance Club Play Chart and the Australian Singles Chart.
Coco was also the first brand ambassador for Chanel.
Coco Lee Parents: Mother Yeung Kam-Ming And Father Lee Kah Shing
Lee’s father, Lee Kah Shing, is a Malasiyan, and her mother, Yeung Kam-Ming, is a Hongkonger.
Coco had two sisters, Nancy and Carol. Nancy is a Hong Kong actress who later also became her manager.
The musician was the youngest of three children. Unfortunately, her father had died before she was even born. When Coco was nine years of age, her mother and her sisters shifted to San Francisco.
As a child, Presidio Middle School, Lee had gone to Presidio Middle School. She completed her high school in Raoul Wallenberg Traditional High School.
After graduating from high school, she got an offer of a recording contract in Hong Kong, where her career began. Lee also started her studies at the University of California, Irvine.
However, she left her studies after the first year to focus on her pop career.

Coco Lee Husband and Children
Lee married her husband Bruce Rockowitz on 27 October 2011 in Hong Kong in a Jewish Ceremony. She had recorded the song “I Just Wanna Marry You” for her wedding.
The song was recorded in Chinese and English versions and was released on 24 October 2011.
Coco’s husband, born in 1958, is a Canadian businessman in Hong Kong. Furthermore, he is the chairman of Rock Media International and co-founder of the Pure Group.
Bruce grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. He dropped out of the University to play tennis professionally in Hong Kong 1979.
He was hired as the chief tennis instructor at the Hong Kong Country Club, where he instructed the then-chairman of Li & Fung.
Rockowitz and Zeeman co-founded Cobly International in 1981, and from 1986 to 2000, he served as the president and CEO.
Cobly was purchased in 2000 by Victor Fung & Li Fung for US $2.2 billion, and Bruce held the position of CEO from 2011 to 2014.
In May 2014, Lee’s partner became the vice chairman and CEO of Global Brands Group. Mr. Bruce is the co-founder and non-executive chairman of The Pure Group fitness and restaurant chain.
The couple had no children, but Lee had two adult stepdaughters from her husband Rockowitz’s previous marriage.
Reason of Death
Lee had a defect in her left leg during her birth. At the age of two years, she underwent surgery. But it failed,d so she had to rely on her right leg throughout her life.
She revealed to her fans on social media on 8 March 2023 that she had undergone pelvis and thigh surgery in Hong Kong after triggering an old leg injury during dance practice in 2022.
She uploaded videos of herself learning how to walk again.
Coco attempted suicide on 2 July 2023 and was immediately rushed to the Queen Mary Hospital unconscious.
Lee died at the hospital three days later, on 5 July 2023.
Her elder sister, Nancy, revealed that her funeral will be postponed until at least August to conduct an autopsy to determine the extent of her previously undisclosed breast cancer.
