Law & Order enthusiasts may root for Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler. But in reality, Mariska Hargitay, who plays Benson, has her own real-life love story. She’s been happily married to Peter Hermann for nearly two decades.

Mariska once shared with E! News, “Peter is such a deep and soulful human.” This was during an exclusive interview at the Law & Order 25th anniversary celebration. It was on January 16, but the exact year slips my mind.
She added, “I just love getting to know him on a deeper level. And so there’s always more.”
Their love story began on the set of the popular crime drama. It was back in 2001. Peter had just made his first appearance as defense lawyer Trevor.
Fast forward three years, and they were saying “I do.” Now, they’re raising three kids: August, 16, Amaya, 12, and Andrew, 11.
