2. Adriana Barraza

Also known as Master Barraza, Adriana is known for her method-acting coaching for aspiring Mexican actors. Her notable performances include Where the Tracks End, Blue Beetle, and Drag Me to Hell. She also secured an Oscar nomination for her performance in Babel, a film by her mentor and director Alejandro González Iñárritu.

The duo created a masterpiece by the name of Amores Perros. She also has an illustrious history in acting and directing for Spanish soap operas. Would you believe she is also known for an Adam Sandler movie called Spanglish?  

3. Penélope Cruz

Hailing from Spain, Cruz came to Hollywood in the late 90s after having established a career in her native film industry. This actress and her husband command a lot of attention based on their looks alone. She is known for her flawless acting in the films Vanilla Sky, Vicky Christian Barcelona, Pirates of the Caribbean, Volver, Parallel Mothers, Pain and Glory, and All About My Mother. All over Hollywood she is known to be a sensitive and creative soul. 

4. Rita Moreno

This actress has had a tumultuous childhood but that hasn’t fazed her out even a little. Raised by a teenage mom, she came to New York in 1936. She lived at the peak of her career in 1961 when she secured an Oscar for her performance in West Side Story. 

She showed young Hispanic Talent that it was all doable. She was the first Latina to win an Oscar. Since having made it in film, Rita has been gracing the television screen with her presence in shows like One Day at a Time, Jane the Virgin, and Oz. 

5. Salma Hayek

Hollywood is strewn with Latin actors and they are all very talented. However, some people just exude sex appeal. Salma Hayek is one of them. This is not to say that Hayek is just a pretty face, she has given us one stunning performance after another. The actress is insanely hardworking and practical. She is also famous for her meticulous work ethic. 

Our favorite one from her array of powerful female characters is Beatrice At Dinner. Her other notable works include Desperado, Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Grown Ups, etc. One of the more critically acclaimed roles she played was Frida Kahlo in Frida. She has bagged one too many awards in her career and is short of just an Oscar.
