Cricketer Nathan Lyon and Emma McCarthy ‘to get married this year’

Cricketer Nathan Lyon’s glamorous fiancée Emma McCarthy recently revealed what appeared to be a stunning engagement ring on her finger this week.

And it seems planning for the couple’s wedding is moving along swiftly, with the pair setting sights on a spring ceremony, The Daily Telegraph claimed on Friday.

A friend of the lovebirds reportedly told the publication that they hope to tie the knot in front of their family and friends in September.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Emma for comment.

This comes after Emma revealed a diamond sparkler at the Gabba in Queensland on Tuesday, during Australia’s test match against India, which they lost.

She looked effortlessly glamorous for the nail-biting game as she watched it all unfold from the stands.

Emma was pictured wearing the weighty diamond ring for the first time last Sunday.

Nathan debuted his relationship with the glamorous real estate agent in 2017, shortly after his messy split with ex-wife Mel Waring rocked the cricket community.

Emma and her batsman beau’s relationship began in scandalous circumstances, as they had been caught kissing in Perth in late 2017 while Nathan was still with his ex, Mel.

The former couple share two daughters together, and Mel detailed their heartbreaking split in a post on her blog, Life of Lyons, in March 2018.

The 32-year-old single mother said her pain was ‘real and deep’ and recounted nights when she would lie in bed with her children and cry.

‘I didn’t ask for this, this wasn’t the way my life was supposed to be. He was my forever, he was my whole world,’ she wrote.

‘Until the very end I was 100 per cent devoted to our life and I loved every part of him and our world. This was like a bomb, it went off from behind.

‘I had to deal with [it] in a very public, humiliating and confronting way. A part of me died.’
