Wilfried Zaha has been snapped travelling to Turkey to sign for Galatasaray as speculation around his future draws to a close.

The former Crystal Palace winger’s next club was up in the air after his contract with the South London side ran out, but he will be signing for the Turkish champions.

In a video shared on the club’s social media, Zaha can be seen sat on a jet as he speaks to the camera addressing the fans.

‘Hello Gala fans,’ he begins, appearing in high spirits as he nears a move away from England for the first time.

‘I just want to say I’m on my way, can’t wait to see you soon,’ he continues, before giving a small wave at the end of the video.

Mail Sport reported on Saturday that Galatasaray were pushing to sign the 30 year-old forward following the expiry of his Crystal Palace contract.

And a statement posted on the Turkish champions’ Twitter account on Sunday said: ‘Official negotiations have started with the football player regarding the transfer of professional football player Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha to our club.’

They club were hoping to tempt forward Zaha with a contract offer worth around £8m-a-year and appear to have secured his services for the new season.

He had been the subject of interest and enquiries from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Lazio and Galatasaray’s rivals Fenerbahce.

Crystal Palace also offered the forward a £200,000-a-week contract in a bid to convince him to stay in the Premier League, but had no luck in the negotiations.

The 30-year-old scored 90 goals in total for Palace across several separate spells, leaving the club to join Manchester United in 2013 before returning two years later.

He made 458 appearances for the club in total after originally joining in 2004.
