Colin Fassnidge has tested positive for the Omicron strain of Covid, sharing his diagnosis in an Instagram post on Thursday.
The celebrity chef, 48, discovered the news as he was about to embark on a family holiday with his daughters Lily, 11, and Maeve, 10.
However, instead of letting his RAT test get him down, the former My Kitchen Rules star did what he does best – and opted to host an online tutorial on how to use up leftover mince meat in the fridge.

You’re going nowhere: Colin Fassnidge’s family holiday plans were foiled at the last minute by a positive RAT test on Thursday… so he decided to host an online cooking tutorial instead
‘Eggplant, bolognese, mozzarella… great snack,’ Fassnidge began in footage shared to TikTok.
‘So, today, should’ve been on holidays, but I’ve got Omicron… what do you call it… Covid,’ he continued.
The successful chef went on to tell his followers that he had spare bolognese and eggplant at the ready, so he decided to whip up a quick meal for dinner.
Colin began his demonstration by frying the eggplant in olive oil and garlic before seasoning it.

Diagnosed: Colin briefly discussed Covid in the lesson, saying, ‘So, today, should’ve been on holidays, but I’ve got Omicron… what do you call it… Covid’
‘It takes up all that oil, I seasoned it, added some flavouring…sweet baby Covid Omicron Jesus,’ he jokingly says.
Colin then adds the basil, bolognese and cheese as he tells his followers: ‘Covid doesn’t slow me down. I’m sweating, I’ve got a running nose.’
‘Don’t worry, the people I’ve given it to have Covid so, you know, I don’t need the gloves; I don’t need a hat,’ he added, presumably referring to members of his family.

He concludes the lesson by explaining that the meal needs to be baked in the oven.
Fassnidge revealed his Covid status earlier in the day in an amusing post on his Instagram Stories that was filmed in his car with his two daughters Lily, 11, and Maeve, 10.
‘We’re going on holidays kids!’ he enthusiastically tells his daughters, who appear uninterested.
Fassnidge then abruptly cuts in: ‘No, we’re not, because someone just got Covid, and as we pulled out of the drive – positive test. We’re going nowhere – everyone back to their rooms.’
