Is this The Apprentice or Love Island? Candidates look worlds away from their professional profiles

The Apprentice is back this week with Lord Sugar on the hunt to find the perfect business partner to invest £250,000 into their company. 

And the series is set to be the sexiest to date as a glimpse into the 16 candidates’ Instagram pages show they look worlds away from their professional profiles released by the BBC on Tuesday. 

With 10 of the 16 contestants under the age of 30, The Apprentice cast of 2022 look like they could be better suited to Love Island as they flaunt their wealth, bikini-clad snaps on social media and boast huge followings.

While the Kathryn, Stephanie and Sophie opted for demure pencil dresses for the photoshoot for the upcoming series, a glimpse into their social media profiles show them flaunting their figures in a slew of swimwear shots. 

Hunky businessman Akeem and Alex also can’t resist sharing shirtless snaps of their muscular physique while others upload photos in business class or private jet.

And it seems the group will have plenty in common, with many choosing Dubai as a holiday of choice. 

We take a look at their Instagram pages – and the posts that will surely raise Lord Sugar’s eyebrows!  

Kathryn Louise Burn 

Swindon-based Kathryn, 29, has worked a wide range of jobs from mortgage advisor to events manager. 

She is the owner of an online pyjama store and already boasts 3,000 followers- going as ‘Kaggz’ on Instagram. 

Kathryn flaunts her luxurious lifestyle on Instagram, sharing racy bikini-clad snaps.

She has travelled around the world, with trips to St Lucia, Montego Bay and Australia evident on her profile. 

The blonde beauty loves to party and uploads glamorous make-up snaps and photos of her visits to fancy bars across the globe.  

Describing herself as ambitious, kind, and often ‘savage’, she says she’s there to win, not to make friends. 

She said: ‘My dreams in my head are absolutely huge and I believe I can achieve them.’ 

 Stephanie Affleck 

Online children’s store owner Stephanie has almost 1,500 followers. 

The 28-year-old from East London regularly visits Dubai and can’t resist sharing a slew of sexy swimsuit snaps on Instagram while documenting her time there. 

In one recent photo, Stephanie posed in a cut-out one piece on the beach. 

In another she wore a racy lace bodysuit and leggy miniskirt for an alfresco dinner. 

Stephanie also shows off her love of designer clothes on her profile page as well as flying business class.  

The blonde is hoping to bond with Lord Sugar and match his no nonsense attitude towards business. 

She’s looking for funding to develop her designer store and be part of the growing pre-loved fashion industry. 

Stephanie said: ‘I’ve got grit, determination and I’m determined to be successful.’  

Sophie Wilding 

Describing herself as ‘magical and enchanting’ Sophie even has a witch school qualification. 

The 32-year-old previously worked in sales and has huge renovation plans for her bar. 

The contestant rung in the New Year in Dubai in a plunging snakeskin print maxi dress which came complete with a thigh-high slit. 

Sophie’s Instagram profile has a modest 155 followers.

The cocktail bar owner has only 24 posts, dating back from September.

They show her enjoying drinks at bars, designer purchases or trips abroad to Dubai and Paris. 

She said: ‘Failure is not an option. Winning is part of my DNA.’     

Francesca Kennedy Wellbank 

Sustainability-company owner Francesca, 26, is a  eco-conscious, mathematics graduate is looking for investment in her next venture, providing a product carbon footprint service for businesses with a simple equation of her own creation.  

The Surrey-based businesswoman regularly shares snaps with her partner on Instagram as well as holidays abroad.

She recently documented a trip to Majorca and uploaded a boat snap in a plunging black swimsuit. 

Her 270 Instagram following will no doubt grow when viewers watch her in the upcoming series.   

She said: ‘There’s two types of people in the world- people that say they are going to do things and people that actually do them and I’m a doer.’

Harpreet Kaur 

Harpreet has just over 600 followers and 54 posts on her profile page. 

The dessert parlour owner, 30, from Yorkshire uploads special family moments and lots of her beloved pooch. 

She goes by her nickname ‘Harpsi’.  

Glam shots include her recent birthday celebrations and evenings outs.  

Describing herself as a born leader, fearless and funny, Harpreet plans to ‘level up’ her successful, six-figure coffee and cakes business to become a leading brand in the UK. 

She says: ‘I’m definitely not in business to make friends. I’m here to make money.

 I’m sure Lord Sugar isn’t looking for a new mate.’ 

Of taking part on the show, she wrote on her page: ‘Watch me battle it out in the boardroom as one of 16 candidates.  I’ll be competing for an investment from @lord_sugar himself for my yummy business’.

Brittany Carter

Hotel front manager Brittany, 25, early has 1,500 Instagram users following her profile. 

The brunette beauty from Bristol regularly shares outfit posts alongside gym shots showcasing her incredible figure. 

One make-up free mirror selfie shows the contestant posing up a storm in a sporty co-ord after a workout.  

Brittany is looking to break away to launch the first alcoholic protein drink, with Lord Sugar’s help. 

Her positive attitude is her best asset she says, revealing that every morning she ‘writes 10 things that I am grateful for and when I go to sleep, I reflect on 5 things I am grateful for from that day. ‘

She said: ‘My motto for life is ‘always look on the bright side’ 

Amy Anzel  

Beauty brand owner Amy is the eldest contestant in the 2022 series. 

At 48-years-old, the red-headed beauty is social media savvy and has nearly 2,500 followers. 

Her page boasts business achievements as well as sweet pictures with her young son Jacob and lavish holidays to Dubai.  

Starting her beauty business a little later in life, Amy has now found what she really loves doing after previously working in sales, showbiz and jingles.

She said: ‘I can be nice when I need to be, but when I unfortunately have to be a b***h, I will…’

 Shama Amin

Shama has only 98 followers on her social media profile and no posts to date. 

The children’s day nursery owner, 41, already has a busy work life running her children’s day nursery as well as juggling life with five children at home. 

She is ready to prove she has the ‘skill set that is required to be one of the best, successful businesswomen in the early years sector.’ 

She said: ‘Being a lady of colour, wearing a headscarf as well and the challenges that we face on a daily basis, I just want to be a living example for the Asian women out there.’  

Alex Short 

Commercial Cleaning Company owner Alex, 27, loves to show off his six pack in shirtless Instagram pictures. 

He spent last month in Dubai and couldn’t resist showing off his physique to his 2,000 plus followers.     

Announcing he was to star in the 2022 series, he wrote: ‘Secret’s out. I’m excited to announce I will be on this years series of @apprenticeuk!!!’.  

With big goals for his commercial cleaning business, Alex is driven, focused and is ‘not going to stop’ until he gets where he wants to go.   

 He said: ‘I would compare myself to a Ferrari, shiny on the outside but under the bonnet, there is a lot of fire and I’m coming for you.’

 Akeem Bundu Kamara

Strategy Manager for a financial firm Akeem mixes business with pleasure on his profile. 

Alongside coverage of his company, or working on a laptop, the 29-year-old from London has uploaded several shirtless snaps recently. 

Having holidayed in Madeira, Akeem posted a snap by an infinity pool as well as enjoying a beer on the beach to his nearly 600 followers. 

Akeem considers himself a people’s person who loves being around others, however as a ‘numbers guy’, his analytical ability often causes him to think carefully about his every move, as he claims he will come in with a ‘calculated point of view’. 

He said: ‘My growing up has made me who I am, I’m able to converse with everyone, but also able to show that financial, business side to myself.’

 Akshay Thakrar

Digital Marketing Agency owner is a champagne-popping socialite, who loves trips to Dubai and flying first class.  

The 28-year-old from London has 472 followers showing off private jets, fancy cars and various trips abroad.

Referring to himself as a man who believes sleeping is a ‘waste of time’ he also claims his first word as a newborn was ‘profit’.

He said: ‘My friends call me AK 47 because I’m a killer salesperson.’

 

 

Navid Sole 

With 10.7k followers, Navid has the biggest social media following. 

The qualified pharmacist and Nicki Minaj superfan, 27, loves celebrities and has shared snaps with Naomi Campbell and Dua Lipa. 

Navid aspires to create a successful pharmacy business with the help and expertise of Lord Sugar.

Describing himself as quirky and unique, Navid plans to stay true to himself throughout the process.

He said: ‘Nothing intimidates me because I just feel like I’m a strong character, strong person, strong mindset. 

Nick Showering  

With just 4 posts and 79 followers, Nick will undoubtedly build his online profile when the series launches later this month. 

With every photo one of him in a suit, the finance manager, 31, certainly means business. 

After ‘working in the shadow of his family’s business’, Nick hopes to make a name for himself in the drinks industry with his line of flavoured water. 

He said: ‘In business I’m a bit of a force to be reckoned with I know what I’m talking about.

‘I know how things work, and I’m extremely experienced. 

‘So, I’m a bit of an animal in the boardroom’. 

Conor Gilsenan

Conor’s page is dedicated to his relationship with his fiancee Megan. 

The former rugby player, 28, announced their engagement in December, and shared a snap with his love showing off her ring. 

He has over 5,000 followers and his page boasts highlights of his sports career.

The sales executive describes himself as a ‘corporate panther’ with a record for getting deals done and who will win this series.

His business idea consists of a fleet of quirky food and beverage vendors targeted at music and sports events.

He said: ‘I’m going to be the corporate panther in the boardroom, I’m going to get it done, and I’m going to be Lord Sugar’s perfect business partner.’  

 Harry Mahmood

Harry also veers more on the side of business than sharing an insight into his private life on Instagram.  

His page consists of snaps of him in a suit and selfies.  

The regional operations manager, 35, from the Midlands is inspired by the kindness of his grandparents.

Harry wants to help and support people.

He said: ‘Everything I’ve looked into achieving. 

‘I’ve achieved I’ve literally done everything I’ve put my mind to.’ 

This year’s group features eight women and eight men from a wide range of business backgrounds, with specialists in online pyjama sales, the retail industry and the food and drink market set to make their screen debut when the series launches on Thursday. 

The contestants – who BBC bosses insisted were all double vaccinated before taking part in the series – are set to face the toughest challenges ever due to many businesses across the UK having been negatively affected by the pandemic. 

Amstrad mogul Lord Alan, 74, is joined by longtime ally and advisor Baroness Karren Brady and series one winner Tim Campbell, who is replacing Claude Littner for the series while he recovers from multiple surgeries following a serious E-Bike accident.  

The Apprentice starts this Thursday, January 6 at 9pm on BBC One, followed by You’re Fired on BBC Two. Watch live and on-demand on BBC iPlayer.
