US prosecutors have called for criminal charges to be brought against Boeing relating to a settlement over two fatal crashes.
Two accidents within six months involving the firm’s 737 Max aircraft resulted in the deaths of 346 passengers.
A flight run by Indonesia’s Lion Air crashed in October 2018, killing 189. That was followed by an Ethiopian Airlines crash in March 2019, in which 157 people died.

Investigators found that flawed flight control software caused the deadly accidents, after which all 737 Max planes were grounded for 20 months.
In 2021, Boeing agreed to pay a £2billion settlement and prosecutors asked the court to drop criminal charges after three years if the firm met certain criteria.
But last month the US Department of Justice said Boeing had breached the terms of the deal.
Victims’ families have urged prosecutors to seek a record £14.6billion fine against Boeing and pursue criminal charges.
Prosecutors have recommended the DoJ pursue charges. Boeing has previously denied violating the agreement.
