90 Day Fiancé star Tim Malcolm is no stranger to questions speculating on his sexual orientation. The TLC personality has opened up on the subject and responded to rumors he’s gay multiple times over the years.

The subject came front and center during part 4 of the 90 Day: The Single Life season 4 tell-all in April 2024.
Tim’s ex-girlfriend Luisa Beltran was invited on stage and was asked about the lack of intimacy in her relationship with the North Carolina native. During the spinoff, Tim told Luisa he wanted to take things slow but the Colombia native questioned his true feelings for her.
“Maybe my friends are right and he’s not into me and he’s not into any woman, I really think that you are gay,” Luisa told host Shaun Robinson. “I’m sorry.”
Tim directly responded to the accusations, telling the group that he doesn’t “give a f–k what people gotta say.”
“They’re gonna continue to say that for another five or 10 years. It’s part of my life,” the reality TV alum clapped back. “People that love me, know the real me, and they know I’m not gay.”

The rumors first ignited following Tim’s role as a commentator on the season 9 tell-all special alongside fellow TLC star, Kenneth Niedermeier in August 2022.
On the reunion special, Tim rocked patent knee-high boots with slim-fit jeans, a blue T-shirt and a black jacket and viewers had a lot to say about his outfit choice.
“I feel like Veronica is somewhere texting Tim asking him WTF he’s wearing,” one fan tweeted, mentioning his ex-fiancée turned bestie, Veronica Rodriguez. Meanwhile, another fan wrote, “Tim this is NOT the look.”
Apart from his fashion choices, Tim got backlash from multiple cast members about the lack of intimacy in his relationship with Luisa on season 4 of 90 Day: The Single Life. Fans watched as Tim dodged a kiss on his date with Luisa, making the excuse that he wanted to “brush his teeth.”
“In my mind, I’m thinking this is the perfect moment for a first kiss for everything, except for the fact that I just ate,” he explained during the March 2024 episode. “It’s been a while. Like, will she think I’m a good kisser? I just have all this s–t going through my brain.”
Tim defended his decision to take it slow with his new love interest during the tell-all, telling his cast members that it had nothing to do with rumors about his sexuality.
“It’s just so funny that every time I sit on the stage, that’s all we focus on,” he explained. “Like, it’s the biggest deal in the world. It’s like, ‘Why didn’t you try to have sex with this girl?’”

The custom gun businessman has addressed speculation regarding his sexual orientation multiple times in the past. During a virtual appearance on 90 Day Bares All, Jesse Meester, who dated Tim’s ex Jeniffer Tarazona, made some major insinuations about why the former flames never got intimate during Tim’s trip to Colombia on the spinoff.
“I think it’s pretty obvious,” the Amsterdam, Netherlands, native responded to host Shaun while laughing in October 2021. “You see that season of her, or the show, and you see the dynamic, it’s just not there.”
The buzz surrounding the 90 Day: The Single Life star has followed him since his debut in the franchise during season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. The TLC personality directly addressed the rumors regarding his sexuality in October 2019 speaking with Entertainment Tonight.
“Jeniffer’s not the only one that’s said that. Let’s be honest,” Tim responded. “There’s a lot of people that have speculated that there’s all kinds of issues going on.”
“My biggest goal was just building a foundation that I thought would be able to last because I don’t want to be divorced. I’ve waited this long to get married. I’ve never been married,” he continued. “I think that’s just strange that society just thinks if a man says no then he’s gay. If a woman says no, it’s fine. But it’s like the double standard that society has. I kind of laugh about it. I do have some feminine traits. The gay thing was kind of out of left field for me.”

Tim introduced fans to Luisa during season 4 of 90 Day: The Single Life after reconnecting at a singles’ event in Charlotte, North Carolina.
