A huge charity walk is set to take place under twinkling skies in Kirklees this summer.

The annual charity walk is set to be an “unforgettable evening” beneath the twinkling Huddersfield skies as family and friends gather to remember loved ones they have lost, while raising money for The Kirkwood Hospice in Kirklees.

This year’s memory walk, which is supported by Syngenta, will start and finish at the iconic John Smith’s Stadium, the home of Huddersfield Town and the Huddersfield Giants. It is set to take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Participants can choose to walk either a six or ten-mile route around Huddersfield in what organisers say is an “opportunity to remember loved ones and create cherished memories with family and friends”, all while supporting a charity that provides care for anyone in Kirklees with a life-limiting illness.

The event marks the pinnacle of The Kirkwood Hospice’s annual calendar, and organisers are determined to make it their best yet, with a spokesperson saying that a mixture of “amazing entertainment” and “magical sense of people coming together for one purpose”, will make it “a night to remember.”

The walk will start and end at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, June 22. Tickets are just £5 per person – and you can even bring your dog along free of charge, if you sign up before the early bird offer runs out on midnight Sunday, April 7. Everyone who signs up will receive a free fundraising pack, and medal at the finish line.
