Ric Flair‘s record of 16 World Title wins could be set to be eclipsed as WWE could offer John Cena a chance to claim a 17th and move one clear, according to Bully Ray Dudley.
The opportunity afforded to Cena, who is tied on 16 too, could come as revenge for Flair’s departure to All Elite Wrestling, in an act of revenge against the 74-year-old says the Hall of Famer, Dudley.
“I would say that if, capital if, underscored, bold letters, circled,” Dudley said to the ‘Busted Open Podcast’. “If the WWE has any kind of a bug up its a** because Flair went to AEW, you might see the WWE put John Cena in a position to break Flair’s record.
“Would you guys agree that the WWE either stood by Ric or backed him up during some of the lowest points of his career and life?

“Trouble times, absolutely, so the WWE is gonna go, ‘We stood by you. We never put anybody else in a position to break your record. But now you’ve decided to take your talents elsewhere to a company that has created a little bit of problems for the WWE.
“Well, now maybe one of our guys needs to become the GOAT of all GOATs and the most decorated World Champion of all time.”
Why did Flair join AEW?
The organization is a Stamford-based promotion run by Tony Khan, who was involved with Fulham football club in the Premier League.
It has signed some big names such as Chris Jericho, The Big Show and now Flair as it bids to become a rival to the WWE.
“I’ve earned their respect and I respect them,” Flair said to Variety. “I haven’t heard one negative word from anybody over there, because I think they feel I’ve earned the right to go out and do what I want to do.”
