Ever since Tyson Fury took the fight with Francis Ngannou, the Gypsy King’s haters have been slandering him and saying he does not have a proper challenge in front of him. Even when he showed up with all that overweight the first time they met face-to-face, people were doubting his commitment. Just days before the big fight in Riyadh, Tyson Fury gave Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour an interview to discuss these claims against Fury. He didn’t pull any punches and gave Francis Ngannou the flowers he deserves. It all happened on the same day both fighters offered an open workout to the press and all the fans who wanted to watch them train for a while.

Tyson Fury doesn’t underestimate Ngannou
Although it has been all banter from Fury in front of microphones, he did get real for a bit when he spoke to Ariel Helwani. Fury said: “I’m fighting an absolute killer in Francis Ngannou. A six foot four or five, 270-80 pound guy who’s come from the streets, come from wherever he’s from. Cameroon. On sleeping on the floor. I read somewhere that he was in Paris eating rats off the street. So this guy is hungry. Do you think I’m going to not train for him? Come in at, like, 400 pounds? I don’t think so. I’ve trained as hard for him as I did for any other fighter I’ve ever fought. And at this level, you don’t get no second chances. So better to prepare for the hardest fight ever, and if not be, then prepare for an easy fight. And it’s a war.”
In the open workout, both Ngannou and Fury appeared with their coaches and seemed light on their feet. Although Tyson seemed much faster than Frnacis Ngannou, we won’t know how well the Cameroonian will do until we get to watch him fight. Fury does appear to be far less heavy than he was weeks ago. Tyson still has those handles that have never left his sides but they are great for playing mind games on all his opponents. If you take a look at his moves, the speed and agility remains intact.
