The Los Angeles Dodgers have caught some criticism from their fans after editing Julio Urias out of their World Series final video, following the pitcher’s arrest for domestic violence.
Urias, who pitched the 2020 World Series-winning third strike, was arrested for the second time since 2019 for assault, having been given a second chance by the franchise back then.
Although he wasn’t charged four years ago, he was suspended for 20 games by the MLB for violating their domestic violence policy and has now been arrested again, this time on Sunday September 3, on suspicion of felony domestic violence.

Whilst he has not yet been charged, he is absent from the team’s trip to the Miami Marlins and the organisation took a telling step by pre-emptively removing him from a video of the team winning the World Series in 2020.
The Dodgers have since taken another step. On Thursday, September 14, it was reported that the franchise cleared out the player’s locker and are looking to move on.
The action has agitated their fans, who believe that, despite his transgressions, he is still a part of Dodgers history and that cannot just be covered up.
“I’m all for erasing someone like Urias from any upcoming Dodgers things and beyond, but the World Series was in the past and a very important moment,” one user wrote on Twitter.
“Maybe now it’s obviously a sore subject, but eventually give those things a rest. That also involved other guys!”
“On one hand, he’s a very flawed man who needs treatment and who deserves to serve time in jail/prison, but, on the other, he did spectacular on the big stage for us,” added another Twitter user.
“History is history, you don’t include him going forward but he was every part of that team and should rightfully be recognized,” stated one more upset supporter of the Dodgers.
