WWE WrestleMania night two: Start time, results and latest news as Cody Rhodes finally dethrones Roman Reigns to become the new fourth world champion on the night with surprise appearances aplenty

I don’t even know where to start on it. We set records this week. Social media, merchandise, sponsorship, gate. This was legitimately, on every metric, the biggest WrestleMania of all time.

Seth Rollins Drew McIntyre was off the chart. How do I make a championship so that everyone wants to win it? I give it to Seth Rollins and let him go to work.

There’s a lot of banter about greatest of all game. You can make arguments for a lot of people in that. If he is not the, he is one of. To deal with eveything, overcome, then go out there and put on a run like nobody ever has before. He has changed the industry in front of the camera and behind the camera.

Cody is that guy because he is just that guy. The right person, everything you want to beleive in. He has forged his path, done it all, all the roads led back here, to where his dream always was. I could feel his dad today.

I’d want to say to him that I hope I lived up to your name, and thank you for that name. And then I would say sorry about the tattoo.

When he passed away, I failed. Even if I didn’t believe, people believed, so I had to do it. I came to he back and Bruce Pritchard and Triple H and Nick Khan handed me the same watch that my dad had that he pawned so I could go to acting school.

The level of investment and responsibility that the company just put in my hands, I hope I can pay it back 100x over.

One of the biggest fears I had coming into this was that if I did win I would have nothing left. The moment it hit three, I knew I have everything left to give, a whole nother level. I just levelled up.

Cody is out next and receives a big cheer from the press room.

What do yo guys want to talk about?

A lot of people asked what it would feel like if you beat Roman Reigns. I didn’t know. There is a difference between being in the main event and being the main event.

Roman and I are not friends but that is the greatest championship reign in sports and entertainment. As much as I don’t agree wth his style, I hope I can be half the champion he was as a leader for WWE.

This was a win for the people.

Bayley comes out with a shirt that says ‘champion’. And her belt.

I didn’t know what the crowd would be like. I am newly friends with them again. Iyo is so incredobly takented, it is hard not to cheer for her. I think I did my job the last few years. Right now I feel crazy. I feel like I just fantasy booked my whole life.

I felt everyone was excited for the future in Hunter’s presence. They are doing it with us. Not everything can be perfect.

Rhea is once in a life time. I get so jealous of her. She works her butt off. I am glad it is going to soemone like Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan. All the girls in NXT. This is exactly what we wanted.

Priest is all smiles as he presents his belt and takes to the mic.

Where we are headed, I have no idea. This new era in the company, everybody can feel it. We are on a rollercoaster. But this ride, it’s going to take a minute. We are cooking right now. The amount of eyeballs on the company, it’s the hottest the business has ever been. We are doing some things the attitude era could only dream of.

I have solidified myself as one of the people we are looking at to lead. I will be better tomorrow than I was yesterday. It’s one of those things that is really hard to put into words. What is happening?

When we started Judgement Day, it took off a new direction. I thought I was done. I wasn’t sure. And the additions, I feel like our differences made something special.

As I say, give Roman his props. He is one of the greats.

Owens is carrying Seth to the back but Rhodes stops him so he can shake his hand. He did a lot of work for this. Lost both his matches this weekend, but what a star.

Loads of the good guys in WWE are in the ring. Orton, Owens, Cena, Zayn, Knight, Jey. All the friends Rhodes has made.

Orton helped show Rhodes the way. They embrace.

CM Punk is in the ring too! Cody’s family. He presents his belt to his mother. What a moment.

Cody looks to the skies. His father would be so proud.

The lights come back on and it is just Rhodes and Reigns in the ring. Back to where we were.

Reigns has a chair. Oh, Rollins is still there. Reigns smacks Rollins in the back. Just like Rollins did to him all those years ago.

Cross Rhodes. Twice. Three time. Pin. CODY RHODES WINS.

THE SHIELD THEME TUNE. I AM NOW TYPING IN CAPITALS.

Obviously it’s Seth. He enters the ring with a chair in Shield gear and Reigns takes him out!

THE UNDERTAKER! WHAT IS HAPPENING! HAHAHAH!

Cena hits Reigns with an AA. Puts Sikoa through the table.

AND HERE IS THE ROCK! THE ROCK AND CENA! TWO GREAT RIVALS!

Cena rips his shirt off. ROCK BOTTOM TO CENA!

Cody kicks out the spike.

There are cameras on the entrance. I wonder who is next.

Solo is shouting. We’ve not seen that from him before.

Spear and spike combo. Cover. Cody Kicks out again.

Spear by Reigns! Cody kicks out!

I’m such a ball of nerves. Lol.

Reigns is not happy with refere Charles Robinson.

Guillotine. Both men out the ring. Now Rhodes spears Reigns through the barrocade!

Rhodes looks to the Cross Rhodes. One. Two. Solo Sikoa. That’s a repeat of last year.

Cody looks to the Cross Rhodes. Hits. Jimmy Uso hits the ring. Superkicks Cody. Here we go.

HERE COMES JEY USO!

He and Jimmy are throwing hands on the stage.

The first of many involvements, one feels.

JEY SPEARS JIMMY OFF THE STAGE!

Reigns wants the spear. No. Cody Cutter.

Rhodes hits a spear! That’s Roman’s move!

Reigns lines up the Superman Punch. Not this time.

Cody looks to the table. We are picking up pace now.

Low blow from Reigns. That is allowed! He laughs in response. Picks up his opponent. And powerbombs him through the table.

Superman Punch. Pin. Kick out.

Pat McAfee has just sworn on commentary. He has a good time.

Rhodes hits the first major move of the match with a Disaster Kick. Reigns kicks out.

Reigns then hits the Cross Rhodes! Cody’s finisher!

Cody kicks out. ‘That move sucks’ – Reigns.

The fight is now going into the crowd. No count outs here.

Cody suplexs Reigns onto a table. They make their ways back into the ring.

It feels so tense.

A slow stat as expected. We will build into this match. I will likely go over an hour.

Cody is going for a table already. Reigns puts it back under.

Reigns however has a kendo stick.

Michael Cole is listing some of the names Reigns has beaten in his reign.

Corey Graves reminds him that Rhodes is on that list at last year’s ‘Mania.

Samanths Irwin smashes the intoductions as per.

And we are underway.

Reigns has a full choir for his entrance.

He takes to the stadium alongside only Paul Heyman. It won’t stay that way for long.

1,316 days.

Only three men have held a championship for longer.

There’s a real final boss feel to Cody’s entrance. He is alongside wife Brandi.

‘Wrestling has more than one royal family,’ the words at the start of his entrance.

I have to say, I am insanely invested in this. Cody is my favourite wrestler. It’s time for a new champion.

Roman Reigns has been an incredoble champion. He hasn’t defender his title too many times, but as a character and as a legacy-maker, no one can argue with this reign.

He will main event WrestleMania for the ninth time tonight.

Could he about to make his last entrance as champion after three-and-a-half years?

We will find out soon.

This is going to be a mega main event.

A real feel-good story for Bayley, who has been one of the workhorses of the division.

Sky pretended to be an apoloigist and leathered Bayley. The face comes back though, tells Sky she was never her friend, and gets punched in the mouth.

Sky goes high. Bayley kicks out. The fans are well behind her.

A really impressive counter to the Rose Plant!

They don’t call Iyo The Genius of the Sky for no reason. She goes high and wipes out her old friend.

Bayley is the underdog here now. The fans are singing the song that is very popular whenever she comes to England. ‘I want to know if you’ll be my girl’, that one.

Iyo locks in a cross face…and again…

Iyo came to the ring with her Damage CTRL mates but they, on the back of losing last night, went to the back.

A slow start here, a lot of emotion in it. The aggression though is soon on show.

The angle here is that Bayley’s knee is being targeted. She was out with an ACL not too long ago.

Right then. Two matches left, and the two that I have been looking forward to most. First up is Iyo Sky vs Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship.

This is personal too. Bayley brought Sky back to WWE as part of Damage CTRL, but she was extradited earlier this year, and will now take on her former stablemate.

Hard to predict this one, but I think most are backing Bayley.

Paul however is up and sends Orton into the post. Owens hits a pop up powerbomb, and a stunner. Orton kicks out.

Orton turns a pop up powerbomb into an RKO! Paul creeps in… and retains!

I think the brass knuckles and the PRIME mascot may be involved yet.

Yeah, Paul has the knuckles. He misses, delivers the second time! But Orton kicks out this time!

Owens then eats the brass knuckles.

RKO! Orton now has the knuckles. He gives them to the referee. Now looking for the punt! The PRIME mascot saves him… it’s – SPEED! HAHA!

The crowd is a lot better tonight. Apparently it is a lot warmer than last night.

Paul is a preal performer He is being booed out the building.

The match is picking up pace now. Good stuff.

RKO in the middle of the ring! Owens kicks out!

Paul tries to avoid the good gusy early but they hunt him down and smash him up.

Eventually, Orton and Owens do battle after an awkward exchange with Orton trying to pin Paul.

Orton goes for the RKO after an agreement that they will not fight yet. The faces are golden.

Kevin Owens meets best friend and tag partner Sami Zayn on his way to the ring, just as he did before Zayn’s match last night.

‘Your turn now,’ Zayn says.

Orton is out next. Owens has a golf cart and picks up his mate as a bit of a throwback to SmackDown.

We are underway.

There was a really cool angle on SmackDown on Friday where Orton and Owens united to attack Paul. Those two have remained mates the whole build-up.

Logan takes to the ring in a massive PRIME truck. Obviously. He also has a huge PRIME mascot with him. It was KSI last time, probably is again.

A quick recap of the Hall of Fame class of 2024, with a tribute to the late Bray Wyatt included.

Logan Paul is in action next. He will defend his US title against Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.

A really nice ending sequence there. Styles goes for the Phenominal Forearm, Knight hits the ropes and Styles comes crashing down.

He hits the BFT for the win in his first match at WrestleMania.

A really impressive Avalanche German Suplex from Knight.

Styles has now locked in the calf crusher.

He is focusing on Knight’s leg.

Knight has now ripped up the floor but ends up on it himself. Styles tries to win by countout…

He makes it. Just.

The fans are so into this. Chanting ‘Yeah’ with every LA Knight strike. And I don’t just mean me at my desk.

He just bit Styles’ head.

I’m not going to lie to you guys, I am wearing my LA Knight shirt right now.

He faces AJ Styles next. An in-character personal battle, with Knight arrested after turnign up to Styles’ house because Styles flew across the world to cost him his Elimination Chamber match.

Both men are on their ways out now. Yeah, they wasted no time getting stuck in.

This match has been mental. I’m still trying to digest the opening events.

There has been invovlement from Scarlett and B-Fab on the sides, through tables, Karrion Kross squaring up to Bubba, and now he’s calling the shots with the tables.

Montez Ford puts Kross through the table and The Pride win. Really fun match.

They celebrate with Snoop.

I was going to say follow that.

Snoop Dogg is on commentary. Bubba Ray Dudley is the referee. It’s a street fight.

We are underway. Six men, no disqualificaiton. It will be fun.

I’m not sure the group is officialy called The Pride but there were rumours about it a while ago so we will go with it.

McIntyre got carried away taunting Punk. Punk snapped and took out Drew. Mr Money in the Bank, Priest, took advantage and sprinted down, cashed in his briefcase for a title match and pinned McIntyre in one.

Punk laughs. The Judgement Day celebrate on the stage. Wow.

I cannot type quick enough. Priest is cashing in!!!

That is so deserved. The emotion on Drew’s face is just… yeah.

The first time in front of a crowd. What a match. Props to Seth as well.

A hero’s reception for McIntyre. Rollins is crying. Tough weekend for him. They exchange words before the former champion leaves.

He gives Punk a staredown and orders the other commentators away. Not too sure what’s happening.

He throws McIntyre back in. Drew hits a Claymore! Rollins kicks out again!

Rollins was looking for a Super Stomp. McIntyre moved. He hit the Futureshock DDT. Rollins kicked out.

Oh, McIntyre is singalling for the Go To Sleep, that is Punk’s finishing move.

He got a Slammy award for his social media work last night. Justified.

These two are already going at it on the outside. Rollins has hit a pedigree and a stomp. McIntyre kicks out the stomp.

Both have beef with CM Punk. There have already been a few verbals on the outside.

Many thought it would be Broken Dreams – his old theme tune – but it’s not to be on this occasion.

Seth Rollins is next. He was technically beaten to a pulp last night. 20 hours ago? Not he must defend his title.

There are about a thousand members of a band of sorts dressed in all kinds of clolours for Rollins’ entrance.

Stephanie resigned from her role in WWE in January last year when Vince returned to work after… let’s say some allegations.

This is the WrestleMania that is am most proud of. It is the first of the Paul Leveque era.

Oh yeah, the national anthem again. The War and Treaty? Whoever they are. All due respect. They have just performed the maddest version of the anthem I’ve ever seen.

WOW! Stephanie McMahon is here!!! That’s not Triple H!

She hasn’t been seen in Lord knows how long! Bar the Hall of Fame.

She is Vince McMahon’s daughter and Triple H’s wife.

I believe we are to expect Triple H out first again?

CM Punk has made his way ringside, with the Best in the World on commentary for this one.

Right then, we are just a matter of minutes away from the start of night two of WrestleMania 40.

This is going to be sooooo good.

Triple H declared it a new era. Let’s start it with a bang.

CM Punk is a man who has made headline after headline since retunring to WWE last year, and many had hoped to see him in action this weekend.

Unfortunately, he got injured at the Royal Rumble. He was supposed to face Rollins, but is another story.

He will be on guest commentary tonight for the opening match, and had his say on The Rock’s return last night.

The Great One had flown rings and wrestlers to his house to prepare a 12-week training camp for last night’s match and did not miss a beat.

Here is what Punk said on his former rival’s return…

I thought he looked great. As being somebody who wrestled him ten years ago, the same questions were lobied around. Everyone wanted to know what he was going to look like, how his wind was going to be.

While there is a giant difference between a tag match or coming back to wrestle the champion, I thought he did well tonight.

Anyway, as exciting as that match is going to be later on, we are set to kick off with Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship.

McIntyre, who is from Scotland, has been rejuvinated since his heel turn, targeting the likes of CM Punk and Rollins.

Rollins has been tied up in his bid to help Rhodes. But tonight he has something else to focus on. Defending his title that he won many months ago.

McIntyre is a two-time WWE Champion but carried the belt when there was no crowd in the pandemic. He deserves his flowers.

To make matters mroe confusing, his WWE deal is up soon, and he is yet to sign a new one. He has said he will leave it he loses to Rollins tonight.

Well, there are a few of Reigns’ family in WWE as I say. The Rock, his cousin, is a given. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, brothers and also Reigns’ cousins, are also alligned with the champion.

Then there’s Jey Uso. He however turned his back on The Bloodline last year, going good, and beat Jimmy in a brother-vs-brother match last night. He may have a say. There’s also Nia Jax and Naomi from the women’s division, though they have not been involved at all yet.

Elsewhere, there are so many more members of The Bloodline that have been involved in WWE at some point. Hall of Famer Rikishi, the Usos’ father, is one. Reigns’ parents are others. And Jacob Fatu, the cousin of Reigns (he has a lot), has reportedly now signed with WWE too.

But with Cody.. his only real family member in wrestling is Dustin Rhodes, who is signed to AEW, WWE’s rival company. You may know him better as Goldust. His father, Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, has passed.

It’s likely his wife Brandi Rhodes, will have a say. And then we expect him to build a team of the Avengers, basically.

All of Reigns’ past opponents could get involved. I’m taliking Randy Orton, LA Knight, Kevin Owens. Sami Zayn.

Some have said John Cena. And the biggest rumour of all? The Rock’s greatest rival, Stone Cole Steve Austin.

WWE boss Triple H shared this post at exactly 3:16 today. That’s Stone Cold’s thing. Makes you think…

I’ve just said to Alex that the main event is the most hyped I have been for a wrestling match in potentially forever.

It’s going to be pure chaos.

Last night The Rock made his long-awaited WWE return, stepping inside the ring for his first ‘proper’ match – he has one that lasted about six seconds a few years ago – in over a decade.

He teamed with Roman Reigns to take on Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, with the result of the match having huge implications for the main event tonight.

The Rock used his board-level power to help secure the win for his team, pinning Rhodes to make sure tonight was a ‘Bloodline Rules’ match.

This means anything goes.

Pretty much all of Reigns’, er, reign has been based on his family. The Usos. Solo Sikoa. The Rock. There are more. I expect them all to be involved.

But Cody has friends too. It’s so, hard to predict, but I am so here for it.

So like I say, six matches tonight, including four titles on the line.

As far as I’m aware, the match order hasn’t been confirmed, but I am led to believe it is as follows…

• Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre
• The Pride ve The Final Testament
• LA Knight vs AJ Styles
• Logan Paul vs Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens
• Iyo Sky vs Bayley
• Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes

This event has been dubbed the biggest WrestleMania of all time, and it kicked off with a bang last night.

We had seven matches take place. Maga stars proved their worths, championships changed hands, historic reigns ended and The Rock showed up and showed out.
