A flight attendant has revealed what the style of shoes you choose to wear while traveling says about you.
Cheryl Killough, a Spirit airlines cabin crew member based in the US, recently left the internet in stitches after she shared the ‘assumptions’ that she made about passengers simply based off their footwear in a series of videos posted on TikTok.
According to the airline employee, she can figure out a lot about someone’s personality just by what they wear on their feet – and many people on the web couldn’t believe how accurate her guesses were.
‘What I’m assuming about you based on the shoes that you’re wearing on the plane coming from a five-year flight attendant,’ she began in her first video, which was viewed more than one million times.

First, she showed a snap of New Balance sneakers, and she explained, ‘This guy has probably not flown in eight years, but he is gonna be the sweetest man I’ve ever met in my life’
Next, a photo of gray, slip-on Hey Dude boat shoes came onto the screen, and she said of people who opt for those shoes: ‘I know exactly who you voted for, and there’s a huge chance you already chug two or three beers in the airport’
First, she showed a snap of a pair of white New Balance sneakers, and she explained, ‘This guy has probably not flown in eight years, but he is gonna be the sweetest man I’ve ever met in my life.’
Next, a photo of gray, slip-on Hey Dude boat shoes came onto the screen, and she said of people who opt for those shoes: ‘I know exactly who you voted for, and there’s a huge chance you already chug two or three beers in the airport.’
Cheryl explained that she assumed people who chose to travel in Crocs ‘didn’t shower before the flight.’
‘And your sweatpants probably have at least one stain on them,’ she added.
As for those who wear Adidas sneakers, she dished, ‘We’re most likely flying from a college town and you’re either going back to school or to visit your parents.’
‘Same with these,’ she added when an image of some Ugg boots came up. ‘And you were probably super nice when you came on board.’
Immediately, people were entertained – and impressed – with Cheryl’s analysis, and asked her to do some more.
In a second video, she explained that people who wore Doc Marten boots usually had ‘overweight baggage fees’ and those who opted for heeled booties were usually ‘sweetie pies.’
Cheryl explained that she assumed people who chose to travel in Crocs ‘didn’t shower before the flight.’ ‘And your sweatpants probably have at least one stain on them,’ she added

‘This girl wanted to bust a ‘fit in the airport and she probably has one of those flat-brimmed, overpriced hats attached to her luggage,’ she added of the latter.
She also said of people who chose On Cloud running shoes when they flew: ‘This person is either the worst Karen I’ve ever met and nothing is going to meet their standards or the sweetest person I’ve ever met that loves to go to church. And there’s no in between.’

In other videos, Cheryl explained that people who wore Hoka sneakers were usually nurses or doctors, while those who chose Timberland footwear were normally ‘heavy lifters.’
‘If there’s an emergency on board I’m immediately gonna go find this guy ’cause he can definitely do heavy lifting,’ she explained of the Timberland wearers.
As for those who dress in Merrell hiking boots: ‘This guy knows what kind of aircraft we’re on, what city we’re flying over currently, what gate we’re gonna be landing at, and he was three hours early to the airport. And we love him.’
As for travelers who wore Tory Burch sandals, she theorized that they’re ‘easily influenced by things on TikTok.’
And if you’re dressed in Vegas sneakers, ‘You’re not a regular mom, you’re a cool mom.’

If you opted for Birkenstock sandals, however, Cheryl said it could go ‘one of three ways.’
‘We could be coming from Mexico, as in Cancun or Cabo, and you’re probably gonna say “hola” to me when you come on board, you’re a suburban mom in a cute sun dress, or you took a concerning amount of edibles before this flight,’ she dished.
The flight attendant also revealed that men who wore loafers were usually old, explaining, ‘This guy is definitely retired and there’s a huge chance that he’s the reason that there’s pee on the floor in the bathroom.’
And if you’re wearing Golden Goose footwear, she would guess that you’re likely well-off.
‘These are always paired with at least three David Yurman bracelets and we most likely don’t have the kind of wine you want on board,’ she joked.
Cheryl explained that if she saw someone in Converse All Star sneakers then she assumed they’re a teacher.
And for those who wear Teva sandals on board, she added, ‘This person had the best time in Costa Rica, and their bag was probably overweight because it had a bible in it.’
Last but not least, the Spirit employee added that she did not trust people who opted for Nike high-top sneakers.
Why? ‘Because they’re so nice when they come on board but the second there’s a delay or something doesn’t go their way they are the nastiest, rudest person I’ve ever met,’ she said.
While some were impressed with how accurate Cheryl’s assessments were, others were offended by her assumptions

‘No. I wear crocs because it’s easier to get through TSA and they are comfy for lots of walking,’ one person fired back.
‘You know what they say about assuming…,’ someone else commented.
‘I love my Hey Dudes, and you’d definitely be wrong about me,’ a third user insisted.
A fourth said, ‘As a daily Croc wearer, how dare you? There is nothing wrong with comfort.’
‘All my shoes say is “these are the heaviest pair I’m bringing on my trip,”‘ another admitted.
Others praised Cheryl’s ‘spot on’ opinions and joked that they felt ‘called out.’
‘I feel both seen and attacked,’ someone else replied.
‘This is so accurate,’ another user wrote, while a different person added, ‘Damn. Spot on with the Merrells. Like, are you following me or something?’
