Linda Nolan has revealed that she’s always ‘keen to squeeze the most out of life’ amid her cancer battle.

The singer, 65, was first diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer in 2005 before getting the all-clear in 2006, but the disease sadly returned in 2017 and spread to her liver and brain.

But now in a new interview she has told how her main focus is ‘making memories’ with her family and filling up her schedule with happy plans.

She told The Mirror that since her birthday celebrations in February her and the family have had a stream of ‘knees-ups’ including her niece Amy’s birthday, her sister Coleen’s birthday and St Patrick’s celebrations.

Linda told the publication: ‘The WhatsApps are flying. Like I said to my counsellor, it’s a funny life in my head. Never mind tumours, it sometimes feels like I have worms wriggling in there.

‘I’m constantly so keen to squeeze the most out of life; to make memories, to enjoy every second, and to ensure everyone enjoys their time with me.

This week I’m realising perhaps I’m putting too much pressure on it all. Can you have too much fun? Nah. But life doesn’t stop teaching you lessons, does it? And just when you think you have this cancer malarkey all figured out.’

It comes after last month Linda revealed her latest cancer scan has shown ‘no progression in the disease’ after learning her tumours had shrunk.

Giving a positive update on Good Morning Britain, Linda told of how the cancer in her bones and liver had stayed the same.

She told hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley: ‘My scan showed that there’s no progression in the disease in my bones and liver, and the tumours in my brain have shrunk a little.

‘That was a day before my birthday. We had a party – either way we were going to have a party. But it was good news, so we really had a party.’

Susanna asked Linda what advice people would give to family members or friends who get diagnosed and perhaps don’t say the right thing.

She replied: ‘I haven’t read the bad stuff online, I see one bad word and move on. It does affect you if somebody says something to you.

‘I found the first time I lost a few friends in the fact they didn’t know what to say and so they didn’t say anything. It was a real shock because two of them were great friends, we’re alright now.

‘At the time they said, ‘We didn’t know what to say’ and I said, ‘Say that, ‘I don’t know what to say, but I’m here for you.”

Adding of the Princess of Wales’ message of hope following her own diagnosis, Linda said: ‘I thought it was perfect. I’m suffering myself and I listened and I took everything in and she’s so right for someone who has been diagnosed.

‘Hope – you’ve got to have hope and people around you that love you.’

Linda recently revealed she is ’embracing every moment’ after learning her tumours have shrunk.

Writing about the news in the Mirror in December last year, Linda revealed: ‘I was getting the results of my scans. Because my appointment was later than usual, my head started to run riot…

‘There’s always that thing outside the door when you know your life could change in minutes. But it was good news. The tumours haven’t grown…

‘In fact, the consultant said these precious words: ‘There’s still some shrinkage.’ I mean, I wish around my waist, but I’ll take it. I’ll definitely take it!…

‘Of course, the tumours are still there, and making themselves felt. The consultant explained memory loss, hearing loss and slight stammer I’ve been getting are because a tumour is impacting the area in my brain linked to cognitive behaviour.’

Linda underwent a single mastectomy and 18 rounds of chemotherapy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.

In 2017, Linda was diagnosed with incurable secondary cancer in her hip, in 2020, she confirmed that she had liver cancer and In March, 2023 doctors told her that she had two sizeable masses in her brain.
