Conor McGregor has revealed that he is still no clearer on when he will make his long-awaited return to competition.

The Irishman’s last UFC fight came when he suffered a catastrophic leg injury during his loss to Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight at UFC 264 back in 2021.

McGregor has since resumed full training and has been angling for a return to the Octagon, with rumours swirling that he would face Michael Chandler in the main event of the landmark UFC 300 card set to take place next year.

The 35-year-old even suggested as much on social media back in November, replying to a fan that he is ‘in’ for UFC 300.

However, speaking at the Day of Reckoning boxing event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, McGregor claimed that negotiations with the UFC surrounding his return are not currently proving fruitful and that instead a return to boxing may be his next move.
