Patsy Kensit has recalled the most ‘erotic’ experience of her life with David Bowie when she was 16-years-old.

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, the actress and singer, 56, revealed an intimate encounter she had with the late singer while filming Absolute Beginners in 1986.

She told the publication: ‘Bowie was just gorgeous. Heaven. I was 16 and I think he was 30 [he was actually 39]. He was so lovely to everybody and I was completely in awe.

‘I was also deluded, imagining that he’d fall in love with me and we’d run off. And of course [when we met] I was in a line-up of people where he just shook my hand and then went along the line, and I was crushed.

She added: ‘But then one day I was sitting in make-up and he popped his head in the door and said hi. He came over, picked up a brush and just started brushing my hair. He didn’t say anything — he just brushed it, then walked away. It was the most erotic experience of my life.’

Elsewhere during the very candid chat, Patsy admitted: ‘My favourite thing is a good hardware shop. It really gets me horny. It’s like sex to me, to go in and find all the things that we never had growing up.’

Comedian David Baddiel previously told how one of his female friends revealed to him that she had had a ‘romance’ with Bowie while the singer and Mick Jagger were holidaying in Mustique. Baddiel said during a 2019 podcast that ‘this woman was 16 at the time and Bowie would have been in his 40s.’

She and her best friend had one of many drinking nights with Bowie and ended up back at their shack with David.

‘David was clearly keen on a threesome and had put some work in to create it. The way he did this, according to her, was to take all his clothes off and put Let’s Dance on cassette and dance naked.

‘It worked for David as both the girls got naked. There were sexual goings-on but she didn’t sleep with David. I said: ‘Why on earth would you not want to lose your virginity to David Bowie?’ She replied: ‘It wouldn’t mean anything to him. I didn’t want to do that for him, just one night.’

‘Instead she went outside. David did s*** the friend, then came out and tried to make it all right with her because she was a bit p***** off.’

Back in 2019, the Mail spoke to two other women who were under the age of consent when they slept with Bowie. Lori Mattix, who had a liaison with him aged 15, explained: ‘I never thought of David Bowie as a paedophile. He would f**k anything. If he liked it he would f**k it.’

Early girlfriend Dana Gillespie concurred, revealing to the Mail: ‘As far as sex went, if it moved, he was there. Man, woman, old or young. Times have changed and it doesn’t always look so good in black and white now, but in those days we were just having fun; there were no rules.’

It’s a matter of record that he dallied with famous women including Charlie Chaplin’s widow Oona, 22 years older, and actress Bette Midler, plus Bianca Jagger, Susan Sarandon and Lulu.

Bowie himself said in a 1997 radio interview: 'I was hitting on everybody. I had a wonderfully irresponsible promiscuous time.'

The sexual free-for-all characterised his open marriage to Angie, whom he wed in 1970. She wrote in her autobiography: ‘David made a virtual religion of slipping the lance of love into almost everyone around him.’ Some lovers they shared, others they did not. By his 1972 tour of America he was with Cyrinda Foxe, a 19-year-old model.

Dana Gillespie was a friend of both David and Angie at this time. She had met David after watching him perform at the Marquee in Soho in 1964. They had sex when she was 14, and he was 17.

He came onstage in thigh-length, fringed suede boots, with long hair. After the set he came up behind her and brushed her hair, and then asked if he could come home with her (she later worked out that this was because he was going to miss the last train back to Bromley.)

Dana told the Mail: ‘I have never thought of David as someone who liked young girls in particular. He liked bright women.

‘It has been suggested to me that him sleeping with me when I was 14 was ‘statutory rape’ but I have said to writers, look, you can’t put that in because, yes, I was young but we were just having fun.

As David became more famous, he caught the attention of the notorious ‘baby groupies’ who were on the scene in Los Angeles at the time.

Led by Californian wild child Sable Starr, who had a romance with Iggy Pop when she was 13, the girls competed to bed visiting British stars.

One of their number was Lori Maddox, also known as Lori Mattix. She was 14 when she first met Bowie at the E Club on Sunset Strip and was working as a model. He was on his Spiders From Mars tour of 1972.

She turned him down that night, but five months later Bowie returned to LA and she was called by his bodyguard, Stuey.

She and friend Sable Starr went for dinner with Bowie at the Rainbow Bar & Grill, and then back to his suite at the Beverly Hilton. Lori recalls that Bowie walked her through to the bathroom, stripped off his kimono and climbed into the tub with her. Then she says, he took her virginity. Later she had her first threesome, with Bowie and Sable (who died aged only 51). Lori was 15.

Now she reflects on the episode with satisfaction. She said this week: ‘I don’t even think he thought about my age, he was so anti-social and breaking boundaries everywhere.

‘I don’t think it was a thought for him and I don’t think he was hanging out with a lot of underage people. We were young then and he was 25, that is still young as well.

‘The rockers must have known we were underage girls, maybe that was part of it for them, the innocence, I don’t know.

Four times married Patsy has her own famous exes, first getting married in 1988 when she was 22 to Dan Donovan from 1980s pop group Big Audio Dynamite.

After her 1991 she married and divorced Simple Minds front man Jim Kerr before moving onto Liam Gallagher, and most recently, Nineties DJ Jeremy Healy.

She confirmed to the Sunday Times that she is still currently engaged to property tycoon Patric Cassidy.

Patsy is thought to have got back together with Patric last November four months after a bitter split.

The actress announced her whirlwind engagement to Patric, 56, last year but the pair split up that July.

When asked if she was wearing an engagement ring by The Times she confirmed she was.

Businessman Patric was said to have popped the question within weeks of their first date but Patsy was reportedly left ‘visibly distressed’ at a charity event in June when Patric snatched her diamond engagement ring from her hand during a row.

Just weeks later a spokesperson for Patsy told The Sun on Sunday: ‘I can confirm they have split, and would appreciate that she is given her privacy regarding the matter. She is currently very busy working.’

An insider added to the publication: ‘The whirlwind romance has come to a halt and the couple have decided to go their separate ways.

‘They have a lot of love for one another, but ultimately, she knew that they couldn’t make it work in the long-term so felt it was best not to move forward with their relationship.

‘Patsy has lots of exciting work opportunities at the moment, and she is throwing herself into her career.’

Shortly after her split, Patsy opened up about finding love in her 50s, defining it as ‘very tricky’.

She told The Mirror that ‘relationships are different at this age’ and it was important to be ‘hopeful and grateful’.

Patsy told the publication that it’s hard to meet people, unlike in her younger days, as she is now often in bed by 9pm.

The former Holby City star said during a recent stint filming Death in Paradise in the Caribbean she turned down invites from her co-stars to go for drinks as she was ready to hit the hay.

‘By the end of it they didn’t bother asking me. The thought of going to a bar or looking for love… but these things happen when you least expect it. I got set up on a blind date so there you go. I use the word companionship’.

Adding: ‘I’m not ruling the intimacy side of things out but relationships are different at this age and it is good and OK. You have got to be hopeful and grateful’.

Then last November it was reported that they had rekindled the romance.

A source revealed: ‘Patsy loves being in a relationship and there are many things she likes about Patric so she has been quietly seeing him again to see if they can make it work.

‘Patric is very extravagant and loves to take Patsy out for nice dinners and shower her with gifts and has vowed to treat her like a princess. They decided they had too much to lose not to give their romance another go.’

The source added that despite it still being ‘early days’, the couple had been ‘enjoying each other’s company’.

When approached by MailOnline for a comment, Patsy’s representatives responded ‘no comment’.

Her most high-profile relationship with Oasis’ Liam resulted in her third marriage, which saw them part ways in 2000 – but the pair share son Lennon, 24, together.

While Patsy is also mother to son James, 30, from her second marriage to Jim Kerr, which ended in 1995.
