Former receiver Antonio Brown was reportedly arrested Sunday night in Broward County, Florida, accused of failing to make child support payments.

According to Broward Sheriff’s Office records, Brown, 35, was booked around midnight on Sunday.

However, the former Pittsburgh Steelers star would have already been released on $15,000 bail.

The accusation against Brown

Wiltrice Jackson, mother of Antonio Brown’s 15-year-old daughter, Antanyiah, urdeg authorities to arrest the former wide receiver for failure to meet child support obligations amounting to nearly $31,000.

Jackson emphasized her frustration, stating that Brown’s apparent disregard for court orders and his belief that he is untouchable warrant legal intervention.

This isn’t the first time legal action has been taken against Brown for unpaid child support.

Florida courts issued two arrest warrants in 2023, one in April for a $30,000 debt and another in August for $15,000 plus a $5,000 fine. Brown avoided jail by settling the required amounts in both instances.

Brown’s troubled past

Beyond financial issues, Brown has a troubled legal history, including accusations of domestic violence in 2019 and involvement in one assault and burglary incident in 2020. Jackson’s recent call for Brown’s arrest extends beyond financial concerns.

Pascal Michel, a lawyer representing Brown’s former girlfriend, notes that Jackson desires greater involvement from Brown in Antanyiah’s life.

The 15-year-old has excelled in athletics, attracting interest from around 80 schools, including the universities of Miami and Oregon, as she follows in her father’s sports footsteps.
