Mike Tyson‘s upcoming bout with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul could yet become professional with a decision still pending, according to an official.
Paul and Tyson will lock horns in Arlington, Texas, on July 20, with the spectacle set to be broadcast live on Netflix.

The event has been heavily criticized due to the age gap between the two fighters, with Paul just 27 and Tyson 30 years his senior at 57.
Many have claimed that the fight is dangerous because of that age gap, but Tyson remains confident he can show glimpses of his glory days and defeat Paul, who has been attempting to build a name in the professional boxing world.
With the fight approaching, there have been questions over whether the bout will be an exhibition or a professional fight, with the rules different depending on how it is classified.
The speculation has prompted a response from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation board, with representative Tele Manga telling World Boxing News.
“We still have not received a card from the promoter for that particular fight, so no decisions have been made yet about whether the Tyson vs Paul event will be an exhibition or professional contest,” Manga said.
Tyson a man on a mission regardless of rules
Tyson is fixated on defeating Paul, whether the fight counts on record or not. He has previously told Fox News: “This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under.
“This is a fight. I don’t think he’s faster than me. I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at 16 doing weird dancing.
“That’s not the guy I’m fighting. This is a guy who’s going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken.”
